Na, haven't seen a single person complain about FS, while tonnes (and several clubs) complained about NGA
Let’s hope it stays that way. Never underestimate the AFL’s desire for interstate flags. Particularly their babies in the North.

It is doubtful they will get rid of this as every club has access to it and it is popular among fans, fathers and sons.
They will continue to water it down.
Do GWS and Gold Coast have access?

We shorten long names, and lengthen short names. Has to happen. I’m hearing new recruit Poulter called Poults. I like it:)
I’d go with Puller...

Father sons will be next on the chopping block.
No they won’t. The NGA program was scaled back because let’s face it, it was a rort. The FS system is a unique part of the AFL, they won’t take it away, especially since the northern academy rort still exists.

Yep the northern academy is a rort when you consider that the Swans have got Heeney, Campbell, Mills and Blakey out of it. The Lions got Andrews for starters.Swans were getting these blokes when finishing high up.

Andrews and Hipwood, amongst a few others.

The Northern Academies are a Huge Rort so NGA came in to even it out a Bit and Stop the AFL Traditional State Teams saying how much of advantage the Northern State Teams Get.

Father Son has no saying in it as that was around before the Northern Academies

Yes. Instead of the AFL running the programs themselves and giving all clubs access to those kids, they gave everyone an academy and created an even bigger problem. Ironically, their solution to the NGA’s was what people were asking for in regards to the Northern academies, but they continue to be run the same so we’re basically back to square one.

Spot On Apex36 just back to now the Northern State have a Massive Heads Start on Recurites then rest of the Comp.

They where ways of Fixing the NGA without Killing it pretty much

It sort of defeats the whole purpose of disbanding zones and announcing an uncompromised draft.

That's a shame, I was really looking forward to making chicken puns.

Get rid of the points system so that the northern clubs cannot trade their first draft pick and then use points of late picks to nab someone like a Heeney. They are lucky enough in the first place to have first dibs on that sort of talent.

How do you know for sure Jen?
Ed has long argued to maintain this great tradition, but with his voice gone who knows?
F/S selections don't really dwell the system, you may get 1 or 2 a year or every few years. Most are rarely 1st round picks. the AFL like this tradition, not just Ed.

Do they? Would have fooled me with how hard they make it.
