Already on an happy to be, the rise in weight is a very minor concern, he has raced well with 59kgs in his previous campaigns.

He is my best of the day on Saturday closely followed by Criterion.

I will be backing all individually but do have those two in an all up with Lankan Rupee for an 8k result.

I hope you get up but I also hope that Buffering gives you a fright and leads for a long way down the straight.

That's about as obvious a quinella as I've seen.

Heathcote admitted to going soft on Buffering and he had a massive blow after his last run. Upped the effort in his work and he's fit now.

Lankan Rupee & Buffering quinella, although I think Buffering can still win & might take an exacta ...

I see Buffering, Gordon Lord Byron and Villa Verde as the only realistic dangers, have backed Villa Verde @ $29 and $26 but risking the others, I feel Lankan is the best horse in it and if he handles the wet will win.

Outstrip put in an amazing performance at Doomben. Stormed past the leader at the 250m cleared by 2 lengths and was certain to win by 3 -4 lengths and just stopped to be run down by the horse it passed. Hope the stupid thing never runs at the distance again.

Saturday Selections:

Hope the rain holds off from now and we have a race meeting not ruined by an unfair track.

Race 4 - 2.3 Units - The Offer ($3.55)

Race 6 - 2.2 Units - Criterion ($3.95). 0.15 Units Crime Fighter.

Race 7 - 2.2 Units Lankan Rupee. 0.3 Units Villa Verde ($29/$26). I think Lankan Rupee will drift into the $4s on Betfair, if the inside not off then I think he just wins, if the inside off I think G.L.B. is a big threat, Buffering the only other realistic chance in the race for mine.

Race 8 - 1.8 Units Messene. 1.35 Units - Weary. 0.5 Units El Roca ($13). Waiting to back Messene as they will continue to oppose him, also waiting on Weary as I missed the early odds and expecting him to ease a touch on Betfair in the betting.

Good Luck all, should be a great days racing.

Ladbrokes have LR and GLB, either to win $4.

I'll do it for you - ruddy shitloads

Actually the big three are Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate and Golden Slipper - Caulfield Cup comes in 4th. That's why they talk about the QUARTET of big races.

I can't have Dissident, people will say that he beat El Roca in the Guineas which is true but El Roca was well below his best that day, didn't back up for mine and got tired late coming off a 1200-1300 into 1600M.

At this point in time Dissident has never produced anything that would be good enough to win this whilt El Roca has now produced 2 out of his last 3 that are going to see him competitive here.

Dominic Bernie believes Dissident to be overs if that gives you any confidence, he also thinks El Roca is overs but believes Messene is the one to beat followed by Weary.

Great fields tomorrow. The TJ is basically the best we've got at the moment and an international.

With the track, the quaddie could have lucky punters ringing their boss at 6pm retiring. Hopefully Aussie Assault is one.

Had a $5 multi the other day for shits and giggles, was originally going to just put it on 5 NBA games that day but decided to extend it to the weekend too, becoming 11 legs.

Got the 5 NBA picks right now just need the following H2H's to get up:

Carlton
Port Adelaide
Geelong
Hawthorn
Chiefs

And the final one is Criterion in the Derby, he might be the make or break here

Odds 62/1

Can't agree. The slipper is a Micky mouse marketing race. That's why I restricted it to the big 3.

Compare the slipper honour roll to the honour roll of the other three. You can't

Tough, tough day today at Randwick - but it's cos they're all such good fields.

I think there's some odds about the place today on account of the heavy track and more rain predicted for this afternoon.

I think The Offer is unbeatable in the 4th, especially with some scratchings.

I'm going for the odds in the Sires Produce - Scratch Me Lucky is one of very few horses in the race with wet weather form. I think Time for War is probably the danger.

Very, very tough to pick against Criterion, and he's my top pick - but I'm prepared to give Puccini another chance, and I think Gallatin is being overlooked by most.

The TJ is about as competitive as I've ever seen it - you could pick out about 8 legitimate chances. I can't have Lankan Rupee at $3.50 when he's never run on worse than dead. Rebel Dane has a good first up record; Tiger Tees didn't beat much last up but he's a warhorse who will get through the ground.

The Doncaster is just impossible. It'll only be a tiny bet for me today, because 12 horses could win this without me considering it a blow out. Of the favourites, I like Weary more than Messene on account of the heavy going - but I think my little punts will be on Sacred Falls and Slow Pace.

I must say, I'm a little bit shy about my usual betting amounts - my last 2 Saturdays have been a disaster. Given how tough the fields are, I think my limit will only be about 33% of what I usually have.

I think it was 10 bucks cheaper if you pre-bought though.

Rosehill last week was 40 bucks on the gate with the strictest concessions I've ever seen - and if you're only going General Admission, Rosehill is a rubbish course. I had no idea that, standing near the mounting yard, or even 50 metres from the post, 10 metres back, you can barely see the track.

I had an awesome day at the Slipper - but I don't think I'd rush back again. In future I'd schedule that trip up during The Championships because Randwick is a much better track for the punters on a bigger race day.

Hoping the track is even enough that every horse gets there chance, would hate to see our next potential superstar sprinter in Lankan Rupee beaten by the track.

I have been super confident on Messene's chances in the Doncaster but hard to bet confidently now, the positive is he will get to $7+ on Betfair which means I have to risk less for the same result.

Happy to be on El Roca and Weary, I think Weary is the safest bet in the race now.

I note Messene is now out to $5 on the fixed TAB.

I do like the horse a lot but the question mark on the wet track a concern. My thinking is around it, Weary (who is now equal favourite), Royal Descent and even the non winner Speediness. Also don't mind a speculative go at the odds Ninth Legion.

Its a good race .

The Sires produce on the other hand - that would be one of the weakest million dollar races I've ever seen
