Toxic coach , toxic culture. They have the cattle to be top 6 worthy contenders, their leadership is Gawn. Champion of the game , but he is no leader ,when push comes to shove from opponents , he goes to water. bottom 6.

6th to 12th.
This is around my thoughts. The team is good enough to play finals.
Some absolute quality players. Gawn Trac Oliver (if those 2 can get back to beat or near it) Viney May Lever Fritsch Pickett Rivers. Some improvement in the younger guys, McVee JVR Turner Windsor Bowey.
Petty should be better not he’s actually having a pre season.
A finish outside of the 8 and the club have to move Goodwin on. We clearly had a strong period from 21-23. 3 top 4 finishes. But losing in straight sets 2 years running had us trying to change things up last year. It didn’t work. So they’re going to have another crack at some changes to game style this season.
Even if we take a step back this year and look at a new coach I’m optimistic of the future as we have a talented core of youth to develop.

Agree on Goodwin moving on if finals arent reached.

Richmond is the only reason why Melbourne won't win the spoon in 2025.

The biggest premiership hangover in the history of premiership hangovers.
I'm not here to stick up for the MFC as we deserve all the crap that comes our way, they way we've gone about business lately.

However surely the Bulldogs hangover was worse than the MFC's.
At least we made finals and had a healthy amount of wins the following 2 years.
The Dogs couldn't even make the 8.

Oliver looking better than last year and a fit Petracca, they'll still be dangerous. A lot depends on how well May's body holds up as their win/loss percentage over the past few years seems to be impacted whenever he misses games.

Bottom 10 IMO. Too much reliance on Gawn and May. Gawn is 33 and May is about to be. May showed some signs of regression last year and Lever struggles when May struggles or doesn't play.
For me Lever struggles when he is either playing through injury or barely does a pre season. He hasn’t done much pre season to date which is a concern.

If they have no injuries - 4th to 10th.

If they have a bad run with injuries or injuries to specific players - particularly to 33yr old Gawn and May or Petracca, Lever and Viney - they could be in for a world of pain. They don't have the high quality depth they had a few years ago.

I think Gawn and May are the big ones.

There is also the degenerate Goodie factor. I could have won the flag coaching that Dees side of 2021 (or whatever year it was). He is a bit of a spud.
