The other fun follow up to this is when they do lose saying with dismay "they have let down the state"Best thing I have found, being known as a strong Crows supporter, that you can do is every time a Port supporter makes a comment to you or tries to stir you up is to just look really excited and say "Yeah, Go South Australia!"
It fires them up beautifully, you can even join in celebrations and all it does it irritate them!
Hard to know where Geelong sit. Write them off at your own peril. They had a soft draw but they're also the only team since Sydney in Round 7 to beat Hawthorn by more than 2 points (and it was by 51). They could surprise Port.
The dream is Geelong to sneak over Port and have Port come up against a red hot Hawthorn. That'd have Port shitting themselves.
Apparently they can....god what a night..I think they are sure things to make the GF.... they surely cant stuff it up this time around?
No current season stats available
Remember Port have been bog average for about half the year. They were playing average as recent as the Carlton game. The last two games they were better due to tackling pressure, but they beat two teams outside the 8.
I'm not sold on any of the top 8 maybe outside of Hawthorn. Going to be an interesting finals!
The measure of a club is how many of their players would you want in our team. I’d count about 6 from Port + Houston (a lot more from Geelong) and we’re the 15th best side in the comp!Cmon.. with houston out.. straight sets was all but certain... It's what happens when you have 5 good players and 17 sanfl players... You're constantly on that cliff edge... 1 injury and you fall off the cliff
Just a glorious evening, but let's wait until Port are completely out. Straight sets and you'd think Ken's future is in doubt.
Grant Thomas and Stan Alves in more recent times.Nah, Ken isn't likely to be in any danger no matter how they go from here.
It's been a very long time since a coach who made finals has been sacked (and for the VFL, you may have to go all the way back to Norm Smith, I can't think of any AFL examples).
