Slowbor festival kicks off at York tonight with the world's best race the Juddmonte International. However it looks a far cry from that level this year with none of the good 3yos turning up and the older horses starting to looks a bit stale. Mishriff is the fave but I can't touch him at that price given how he has gone looking for the milk completely at his last two. Similarly the Prince of Wales's Love won is looking utterly terrible and then she was flogged in the King George over her preferred trip. That leaves me with the 3yos and while he might not be good enough I have to have something on my old mate MOHAAFETH who perhaps wasn't ridden to best endeavors in the York Stakes last start. Think he is much more a 10f horse than the filly Alcohol Free who can feature if she steps out in trip.
We also have one of the great Melbourne Cup trials in the Great Voltigeur (unlike the Slowbor) which sees SIR LUCAN try and defend his status as top seed of the raiders who will come down here. It's a hot race but he is worth a bet given how short O'Brien hype horse High Definition comes up again (we have opposed successfully at both starts this campaign). A top 3 finish would be more than enough to suggest he is well on track to be right in the thick of it at Flemington.
The Acomb also looks a great little 2yo race where NOBLE TRUTH and Ehraz do battle again having fought out a nice maiden at Newmarket in July

Now that I've seen the race I will actually play it by laying every runner in single figures apart from him. They are all far too short.

Gate was key in price, close to red figures if drawing inside 4. Will do what it has done every time something hunts up under it, pour the pressure on outside leader until it crosses, then just a case of whether it holds on after the work.
Dalasan deductions and needed the stewards to even get the W. Was a sit out race for me as soon as Dal was out. Very weak brag mate.

I had no skin in the race outside Dal mate. Even rated a cooked Moth ahead of BR.

When you have led your last 10 starts and have 5 speedsters in the race it is literally the key factor in price
The ONLY thing getting it beaten is too much pressure in leading, gate is the defining factor
No it literally is not. Ridiculous call to think moving out 5 horses in the barriers reflects that sort of price switch
