How's state cricket and Australian cub rugby union going?

State cricket has always just been designed to find talented players to play for Australia so as a result isnt that important and as for club Rugby it is a third level competition (Super 14 and Internationals being higher) so you cant really expect to pull any crowds. It would be like talking about the crowds of the competition below the NRL, it is completely pointless as all it is is a feeder league.

AFL get bigger crowds, they always have

Excuse me for repeating myself but...

A.R is played on a massive field. Is there another sport like this? (cricket is relativley a central game, besides the 6 pointers).

AFL is a much easier game to watch live. The ball is constantley kicked 20/30/50! meters, and covers lots of ground very fast. Back and forth, side to side. Many of you have said it yourself, you prefer to watch the game at a stadium. That way you can actually see the whole ground.
.
.
Might explain the crowds, but not much else i bet.

The AFL's crowds dont mean those games are anymore exciting to watch live, than League games are.

You wanna know what else will pull a big crowd? ..World Youth Day..
Does that mean its more exciting than watching RATM at the Festival Hall??

World Youth Day happens only once a year, cant really compare it to AFL which has nearly 190 games per season.

Tell me that you are joking. Tell me .
Because if you're serious , do you realise just how dumb that makes you look.
Maybe you're an AFL fan trying to make rl fans rediculously stupid.

Funny, but confusing.
Maybe you need to get out and actually see a League game.

Not really. The Super 14 is a competition just like the NRL so those are the two competitions you should compare when talking about Rugby Union and Rugby League.

Wrong. Club v Club, State v State, Nation v Nation. Your trying to make union look better than what it is. The only reason they have Super 14's is because no-one is interested in club union.

Why do we want to kill off NRL and Rugby Union, sounds like I'm a hippy, but the sports can live in peace, it's possible for people to like more than one code.

AFL is the best sport by a mile in my opinion, but I don't see why people on here are obsessed with killing of the other codes.

Also the Port-Geelong 1st v 2nd only attracted a small crowd

All Super 14 is is Club vs Club. Sure some clubs are in different countries but its still Club vs Club.

They are not clubs they are provinces/states. How does the NSW Waratahs who represent the state compare to Penrith or South Sydney? It's abit apples and oranges, don't you think?

Go ahead, come up with them. That's one hell of a gap to make up.

Don't forget WA and SA regionals as well.

I can tell you there are nearly 5 million people in regional NSW and QLD plus ACT. In SA and WA regional there are 920,000 people.

It is obviously an advantage to AFL for these areas to be ignored in the ratings, wouldn't you agree.
