whats the deal with Conway giving up his wicket?

Does it seem to me that the Aussies are happy to dish out the bouncers but when they are on the receiving end of a barrage of bouncers, they are hiding in their shells?

Just Harry doing Harry things nothing to see here.

To me it looked soft.

1. He looked like he was being sarcastic when he called out the trainer after getting hit by the Indians. Also when the Indian fielders checked on him , he didnt seem to acknowledge them.

2. Him getting run out intentionally- was a sign of 'I dont want to face this $hit at 10pm with a pink ball". If you arent fit enough to face the next ball- at least retire hurt.

Having seen Harry bat too often nothing is too weird for Harry lol, was actually funny he almost reached double figures!

I think the AUssies have given India more ammo to bowl the short ball now to our tailenders for the rest of the series in particular to Starc, Lyon, Cummins (who is a decent bat anyway) and Hazlewood.

India better know how to play it themselves...and please pick Shaw and not Shubman Gill who is miles better.

Meh both attacks are elite, it's the batting that is very flimsy. India rely heavily on Kholi, Rahane (elite in these conditions) and Pujara...Australia rely on Warner, Smith and Lab.

If that was a test match, as an Australian supporter you would be seething, those 15-20 extra runs in that situation could be the difference between winning or losing.

Should have done the old Michael Clarke trick and just declare behind and give themselves an over or 2 at the Indians.

I was surprised they didn't declare 8 down to be honest, having tail enders batting in the last hour is dumb under lights. They aren't goo enough to hit the thing!

I don't really think Langer would give a fu** what the average punter thinks and nor should he. Probably the ideal time to pick a Marsh bro as it is abundantly clear there are not better options atm.
I am not saying Langer cares, it is just the dimwits who will express the views either way.Select Marsh, ohhh he is a West Aussie.
If he selects Burns, it is a case of, ohhhh Langers buddy buddy's.
Just some dimwitted posters.

I think it's completely one thing to bowl short at Harry Conway and another entirely to bowl short at Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood. Cummins and Starc can and will play the hook and make you pay if it's not well directed, and both of them are nasty enough to take it personally and to try and hit you when it's their turn. As for Hazlewood, he's hit plenty of blokes despite being a good 10-15 km slower than the other two. Lyon has been bounced plenty of times, and has absolutely no fear trying to ramp or pull you for six; bouncing him is the least likely way to intimidate him or get him out.

India are welcome to try and use the short ball against Australia. It'd make for an interesting series.

I dont watch alot of Harry Conway in red ball cricket or the Sheffield Shield.

I do agree though, if your a bowler that bowls bouncers at tailenders , (non specialist batsman) you should be prepared to cop the same in return.

It's a wicket-taking option at all times. If you're playing for your nation, you can and should expect to get bounced from time to time. Don't think there's anything to the tailenders part of it.

This isn't 5th grade, and the tailender's likely to get killed.

so I take your in agreement with me that it was a bit of a cop out from Harry to run himself out during the innings because he didn't want to face that bowling barrage at around 10pm at night?

Yep. If you don't like getting bounced, belt em for a few 4's or 6's and disincentivise it. Bowlers don't like getting carted.
