Interesting blow-up in the Aus A vs India A game regarding the condition of the ball, and how it got that way, when India were bowling in our second innings.

Indian A keeper charged with dissent regarding his comments to the Umpire over the ball change, Cricket Aus rolled over and said "Rub my tummy please" and cleared him. You could hear it plain as day on the live feed at the time.

I've always maintained that we should have given them a lift to the Airport when they threatened to go home at the time of Monkeygate. It was a shocking act of weakness and lack of support for their ( CA's ) players.

Our batting is pretty woeful, it will be a lot closer than that. Smith should have been given the thanks for your service phonecall

If he doesn't score any by Melbourne I hope the discussion is, you announce you are retiring in Sydney or we will drop you, take your pick. Looks utterly cooked, and not helped by playing ODI's leading in. Should have been playing red ball cricket and not resting from Shield games.

Smith demanding to open has also left us in the position of not having an opener. Blind Freddy could see that that wasn't going to work. We should've chosen a specialist opener to play against the windies and NZ giving them a relatively easy start to the job.

The other issue was it wasted last summer Warner too on his silly farewell tour. mind you last year there was no Konstas or McSweeney being options, and we sure don't need the Average triplets being openers again.

I hear you but it's all about opportunities. And as bad as those three have been of late an opportunity to bat against lesser attacks may have resulted in one of them capitalising and hence gaining the confidence to cash in on their obvious talent.

That would be even worse as we know good attacks would eat them for dinner. Have more an issue with moving our whole lineup around. It should have been a SMith-Green-Head middle order

We will never know unfortunately. The opportunity was missed to give at least someone a go whilst the pressure was off.

The old NSW propaganda campaign in full swing for Konstas.

If you work on runs against the redbacks don't count he averages about 20.

Be interesting to see how he gets on from here. Can he be a Michael Clarke or is he going to buckle under the expectation like Jason Sangha or Doran.
The Redbacks bowling attack he faced were in the Aus A game and two of them were the better bowlers for the match. Not calling for his inclusion, but his runs against SA deserve credit.

Yeah would seem like the way to go, best available plus he could be the next captain if he makes runs.

Agree we need a captain in the mid range in ages we only have Green right now and he’s an AR purely and simply I hate those being captains it’s too big a workload

Still think Harris will be picked as the opener...he has SS form on the board. Not saying that pleases me but I think they will still go with him. Gone are the days where batsmen are making squllions in the first class games.

You used to have to average 60+ to be in the mix 25 years ago, even then you wouldn't get a game unless there was an injury, times certainly have changed.

Selectors should be taken out the back if they ever think of playing the Average Triplets again.

To think we went from Hussey averaging 55 odd domestically and couldn’t get in late to let’s pick Harris, Bancroft or Renshaw lol

Should be announced as Australia A opener for the next game first but that'd be the sort of I'd call common sense but doesn't seem to be all that common anymore.

Just play the younger two openers in that game McSweeney/Konstas no point playing Bancroft

some of the names that got no opportunities to limited in the 90's to early 2000 is incredible. We missed out on seeing some great test batsmen....Jamie Cox, Martyn (missed a big chunk of his career), Elliott, Love, Bevan, Hodge, Voges, Lehmann, Siddons,Maher, DiVenuto and probably plenty more
