Sutherlands drop at 12 hurt India more than, Smritis drop early on , in terms of tons.

Sutherland easy, a ton and a wicket as well. She got the game going on Aussies terms with the bat. Her positivity with the bat, helped Gardner when they were batting, as Gardner was struggling for the first 40 balls batting today.

Australia were 4 down for not many. Sutherland came out with the bat and striked it at around 100% strike rate, Gardner was nudging and nurdling them around around a 50% strike rate for her first 40 balls or so.
When Australia chips were down, it was Sutherland with the bat that swung the momentum the Aussies way. Thats where the game was won for me. I dont think Australia defend a target tonight had they posted 220. Yes Sutherland also had that bit of luck as well but huge difference tonight defending 298 and 220. Minnu dropped catch Sutherland, proved to be the difference in the end.
Gardner had a good game with her 5 wickets but I sense India never really looked threatening even when 1 down. Their batting is really thin from 8 onwards. Minnu is inexperienced as a 7, Deepti is cooked at 6 (and unfit), Kaur is no longer the force she once was, Jemimah seems to be smiling and laughing even in losing causes. This team needs a bit of a reality check in terms of where they are at. Their batting and fielding lost them that game tonight. Id even say their batting/fielding cost them that game, rather than Australia going out to win that. And there is a reason why the majority of these Indian players failed big time in the T20 world Cup this season.

Without Sutherland they barely make 220 (at best). Got a wicket herself too

Sutherland was basically player of the match in 2 of the games. Love Georgia though I just hope we keep Healy away from the opening spot, we were a mile better up front
