For all the fun on this thread and baiting of Dan26, I think it is worth noting the key way in which his prophecy was wrong: love or hate him, Tony was a very effective opposition leader, when he became PM he never got out of opposition mode. It was still about saying they were not Labor or they were better than Labor, rather than actually being a forthright leader.

In all seriousness, a brain dead nutter could have led the "liberals" to victory over what was a government besieged on all sides and within by the heavy artillery and guerrilla tactics being used against it by Kevin Rudd and "you-know-what", a brain dead nutter did!

It was only people who couldn't see past their noses who couldn't tell that Abbott was the epitome of incompetence, deceit and extremism. Hell, he had form!

To be fair to the OP, Dan 26 didn't get Tony Abbott as wrong as he did the science of climate change. The poster lives in a fictional world where the climate always changes and a Roads Scholar with no interest in governing when there is cycling or camping at the Top End or fire-fighting to do will make a great PM.

To be even fairer to the OP, Dan might be as big a dill as Tone but not as grandiose in his self-delusion.

I've worked in the area of advocacy over the years, so I spent some time in Canberra and went to alot of functions. Thats where I've met the man of the moment.

Sure Im a liberal voter, but I was also a Malcolm Turnball fan once upon a time till Grechgate. Im no rightwing Liberal Party member trying to make a point. I just see what Tony has achieved for conservative Australia and like it.

How's that army going? I'd say even the KISS army would kick its arse about now.
