I understand what needs to be done. I will stand-up and take over as captain of the Australian team.

I have an exceptional record in International Cricket Captain 2016. I took Queensland to back-to-back-to-back Shields, and upon taking over the Australian side, defeated a very strong South African outfit both at home, and away. I am currently 3-0 against England in England in the 2025 Ashes series. The decision to play four pace bowlers and only use part-time spinners was certainly a risk, but it has proven itself to be a great one. At this stage, I am not aware of any ball tampering from anyone in my side. I will be awaiting my call from the ACB.

Although it is extremely frustrating, I understand where Sutherland is coming from- he's going to have had lawyers tell him he needs to follow due process before sacking Smith, otherwise the decision will be open to challenge. I think it is fairly obvious how he feels about it. It is appalling that Smith hasn't already resigned- it is beyond belief that he will be taking the field as an Australian captain today.

You can't just sack Smith and stuff because the legal issues that can come with it. That's why there has to be processes cause you also have to find out who's the next captain and stuff.

A lot of processes have to happen which I know sucks (I mean look at the responses on here and social media) but rather that than some legal thing arising which will lengthen it longer.

He refused to say that our team cheated. That's the real issue. He used ineffectual language, and there's every reason to think the consequences will be equally ineffectual. I think you're forgetting, Smith doesn't really think its a big deal. At the moment, nobody from CA has really said otherwise. "Shocked and disappointed" is weak language.

Can't really blame the response from Sutherland tbh.

No use firing off and handing out punishments to Clarke and Bancroft. Sit everyone down and work out exactly who was involved, get everyone.

No actual proof Lehman was involved as yet, just footage of him on a walkie talkie with no proof of what was said. Smith says he didn't know.

Only way to find out is a full investigation not a quick fire salvo at the public faces.
