Bicks still refusing to answer whether he has shares in coal... even though I answered his question when he asked it after I asked mine.

I'm going to assume he has shares in fossil fuels until he says otherwise... as why wouldn't he simply quash it?

The term fossil fuels cover oil, gas and coal.

Oil is used in a lot of products, gas is used to create fertiliser as well as power source but coal is the real dirty one, it has very few uses.

Reckon he has investment in coal companies as you state.

You are not thin skinned?

When did you become a comedian?
Well yesterday Bicks claimed he was in favour of renewables... which is comedy gold. ;)

I have no shares in fossil fuels, none at all, you must have shares in billionaire $imon Renewables if that's how it works.

Hilarious coming from UAP who would be responsible for more disinformation than any other party.

Btw, I'm not claiming Bowen is honest all the time, particularly given his Nuclear scare tactics when just need to argue on facts.

But lol, Palmer's party are the kings of misinformation.

Funny stuff...

Coking coal is used in the production of steel. However, there are other processes which can be used (e.g. using hydrogen) instead. Work is going on to reduce the cost of these alternatives.

Enjoy it while it lasts Kev. The free ride is coming to an end real soon.

I already posted this earlier today.

I'm not exactly a Rudd fan & like many ex-politicians loves to keep spending taxpayer monies.

See that wasn't hard when I asked you for a 3rd time.

I already answered you i don't have shares in renewables... but would have no issue to.

So you are just a dinosaur in this debate then.

This is in the USA but I'm sure this will happen here when the cost don't start adding up.

The conservationists v the climate creatures.

Michigan plans to clear 400+ acres of state forest near Gaylord for solar farm

A 420-acre swath of state forestland will be cleared for a solar farm near Gaylord under a lease agreement with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, confirmed a top state official.

Officials with the DNR recently assessed 1,200 acres of public trust land in Otsego County near a major power transmission line to decide whether it was suitable for solar arrays. Agency leaders ultimately decided to lease 35% of that land to accompany other adjacent solar projects already in the works.

I put up a story where solar farms can co-exist with sheep & cattle farms... & in fact can double-up as shelter as well as providing another source of income.

Reckon we can do it smartly, including much more industrial roof tops.

And guess who thought Wong has done well.

I wonder if everything is going so swimmingly with Israel why is Dreyfuss off over there with cap in hand.

Of course anyone but our lefty idealogues can see why Dreyfuss is heading over there and not the mean girl Penny Wong who has sitcanned Israel at the UN since her visit last year and refused to visit the site of the October 7 2023 Hamas massacre and wouldn't be welcome. At least Albo has got the call right sending Dreyfuss.

Attorney-General’s bid to mend ties with Israel

Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus will soon travel to Israel to help mend the fractured relationship between the Albanese and Netanyahu governments.

Dreyfus, who is Jewish and the descendant of Holocaust survivors, would be the first government minister to visit the nation since Foreign Minister Penny Wong went to the Middle East in January 2024.

The diplomatic relationship between the two nations has come under strain and tensions soared last December when the Israeli prime minister linked growing anti-Semitism in Australia to decisions made by the Albanese government relating to the conflict.

Today, we mark a devastating and tragic anniversary. On October 7, 2023, more than 1,200 men, women and children, including 46 Americans and citizens of more than 30 countries, were slaughtered by Hamas – the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Girls and women were sexually assaulted. The depravity of Hamas’s crimes is almost unspeakable.
Hamas also took 254 people hostage that day, including 12 Americans. Four of those Americans – Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Itay Chen, Judy Weinstein, and Gad Haggai – were murdered by Hamas. Four were released through an agreement the United States negotiated last November, but four remain in captivity in Gaza: Edan Alexander, Keith Siegel, Sagui Dekel-Chen, and Omer Neutra. There are also an estimated 97 other hostages who remain held in Gaza today. They include men, women, young boys, young girls, two babies, and elderly people from more than 25 nations. Hamas should release these hostages immediately. Every single one of them, including all seven American hostages, must be returned to their families, and the United States will continue to work tirelessly to bring them home.
Hamas’ attacks on October 7 unleashed a year of conflict, with tragic consequences for the Palestinian people. The United States mourns the death of every innocent who died on October 7 and in the year since. It is time to reach a ceasefire agreement that brings the hostages home, alleviates the suffering of the Israeli and Palestinian people, and ultimately brings an end to this war.
The international community must also stand steadfast in the face of terrorism and violent extremism, including the sources of support for groups like Hamas. It must condemn Iran’s support for Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region that are responsible for so much death, destruction, and instability.
On this painful anniversary, the United States stands with Israel as it defends itself against terrorism. We remain steadfast in our commitment to lasting peace and stability across the region and for a common future for Israelis and Palestinians with equal measures of security, dignity, opportunity, and freedom.

Is there a new solar system? Yes, Mutineer is a fossil, had its day and no longer relevant.

I’m pretty liberal (not as in political party) in my views.
Figured was better than an old (hot) wind farm...

Now imagine this happening.

Development in technologies continue to occur.

Does it happen? Possibly but given Mercedes are involved they might get it to work.

Upgrade Albo at it again...Do as I say not what I do....Votes is all that counts and to hell with Infrastructure Australia's assessment that the project had a negative net present value of minus $303 Million.....who cares it's only taxpayers money and more interest on overseas borrowings to add to the massive debt, nothing to see here. Noting of course Infrastructure Australia was set up by then ALP Infrastructure Minister Albanese in 2008.

PM ignored independent adviser on Queensland road spend

Infrastructure Australia broadly agreed with a Queensland government business case assessment that the $1.2 billion ring road project had a net present value of negative $303 million.
“The costs of the project would still significantly outweigh its benefits,” Infrastructure Australia noted in an April 2021 evaluation.

“Infrastructure Australia evaluated the business case and considers the project to have a strong strategic case, however, our evaluation confirms the proponent’s analysis, which found that the project benefits do not outweigh the costs.”

The prime minister’s office and Infrastructure Minister Catherine King were contacted for comment on Tuesday.

Infrastructure Australia set up by Albanese

Infrastructure Australia was established in 2008 by the Rudd Labor government to develop and modernise the nation’s infrastructure.

In the words of the then-infrastructure minister, Mr Albanese, the government was “replacing neglect, buck-passing, and pork-barrelling with long-term planning, where governments predict and anticipate infrastructure needs and demands – not merely react to them”.

In opposition before the 2022 election and in government, Labor pledged to make Infrastructure Australia more independent and respect its recommendations on proposed projects.
