Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water

I think George has a shot against Hayley I think he gets smoked by Flick (with the story and a potentially bitter jury).

I also think all the talk of George being a politician and great at speaking to the jury is oversold by the contestants, we’ve seen him speak and it’s not great. I actually suspect Hayley Probablt has the best pitch.
normally I'd agree with you about the bitter jury. But in this case, i think George has been so thoroughly unlikeable around camp to a lot of people that he's failed the social aspect of the game. IMO, his only chance to win was against Cara and he'll be in the top 2 regardless of who wins the challenge

IMO this is the worst cast Australian Survivor has seen, but ironically the top 2 George and Hayley are behind only David in Aus Survivor rankings.

They have saved this season because the rest of the cast is trash. Look at the jury FFS, a bunch of nobodies.
I think Hayley is a bit overrated in terms of strategy. She's made two monster moves and then benefitted from playing with a bunch of dullards. Her decision not to flip and send George home instead of Wei was extremely short-sighted. Also - she's already been voted out once

George has a play for sure, i dont think hes anywhere near as good with the pitch as others think, generally when he speaks it sounds like a really low level local politician, but he has played a great strategic game.
Could be like Sharn who thought because she was a barrister she'd have an easy time selling herself to the jury against Shane. But completely failed to connect with them at all.

The bolded is actually completely agreeing with me.

Hayley got herself in a hole strategicaly and got saved by the redemption rock twist.

Producers put Hayley in the hole with the ridiculous 3 immunity / only 3 votes / only 1 vote at tribal twist. She was bossing the game from the middle with George at that point. Then her only choice was to attack George and go down in flames because of the stupid twist. I'd usually hate someone that was voted out winning but I'm happy to ignore that in Hayley's case.

Exactly. She was absolutely shafted by that twist the producers wedged into the game.

I have no idea who people think George has been totally unlikeable in camp. Must be watching a different show to me.
Not really... Go back through a few pages there are numerous examples of it. They may not be as extreme or impacting as we think they have been (as viewers) but they are there.

Her being voted out is why on my power rankings this season she sits behind George. However, she's been a challenge beast which is props to her.

Hayley is the best combination of physical and strategy this season. George and Flick are more strategy vs physical.

But George's strategic game has been on another level.

I think Hayley was humbled after getting turned on by everyone after playing aggressively. Since she's come back in she's played very conservative and went with the numbers, but her commentary still suggests she knows what's going on. Does she have enough credit in the bank from her moves earlier on? There was a point where it looked like so long as she could make it to the finale, she'd have a very reasonable resume to present... but now I'm not so sure.

the only time George was seen as disliked mainly by dictator doctor, at the start and maybe when Wai called him mean. Other than that he was the court jester of camp life. His dick move was calling Emmett a poser when he voted but other than that i don't think he was disliked.

Theres been more examples, Andrew getting shitty about him being lazy and never letting people have one on one conversations as one that i can think of off the top of my head.

Do you see Emmett repeatedly calling George a cockroach a term of endearment or could it be because he has strong dislike for George?

It's not so much the strategy of the move, it's that she got one of the tightest duos in survivor history to turn on each other. Cara and George have been inseparable this whole game, and for a lot of it have had no one but each other. They've both played idols to save the other, and George was bawling his eyes out calling Cara his hero when she did. Even if it's the 'right' move for them it's not easy to get them to vote how they did.
I don't think she got them to do anything. George knew he had to get rid of Cara at some point and he said as much on Sunday, all that stuff you mentioned was weeks ago and he didn't seem too emotional when he voted for Cara last night. George isn't an idiot, he knows that Hayley is his best chance of getting to F2 as only she can beat Flick.

I guess I just don't rate Hayley as much as some.

I'm not sure what George did last night was definitely the right move for him though. I think there's a very real chance he just voted out the only person he could beat in the final 2.

But he isn't beating anyone at immunity and Flick wouldn't be taking him to final TC? So if he votes out Hayley he finishes third. At least if he votes out Cara he gives himself a chance to get to final TC and plead his case. Hayley beats him there regardless but at least he gets a chance to put it in his hands.

Any talk of flick not being “deserving” is silly.

Whatever game gets you there and wins it is the right game. I can’t stand George but if he wins it he absolutely deserves it. Frankly anyone left in final 3 deserves it. I would have struggled to say this with a straight face had it been Cara…

There is such a thing as undeserving winner. Flick kinda fits the bill. What has she done? What moves has she made?

He probably isn't winning the IC but you never know. It might be a challenge that suits him or Cara, or maybe Flick could have a momentary lapse of concentration. I think his chance of winning was pretty low either way tbh, but I think he'd had more chance booting Hayley

I think he was weird and unlikeable at the beginning when he was playing with emotion, but he seemed to improve a lot as it went on. In the end his idiosyncraticities seemed somewhat amusing and others around him seemed to warm to him. They've never trusted him though.
