I’m just find it bizzare Josh didn’t vote for Mark in the final tribal, just bizzare - you take out your biggest threat at that point of the game. Bunch of amateurs this season.

If he did that he might have convinced both Shay and Chrissy.

Josh wins vs anyone at the end for mine so probably doesnt care who else is there so long as one of them is him. Call was fine imo given it made no difference because everyone else wanted him out anyway. He still pitched to the girls to take out Mark

Ties at that stage were split by making fire (assuming they were still deadlocked after the re-vote). Becky vs. Sundra in Cook Islands may've been the first year they used it in 2006.

No preview for next season?

That hasn't traditionally been an Australian thing. With the exception of 2 seasons (All-Stars and this one), every other season has been filmed roughly a year after the previous one, and whereas CBS picks up the US version for multiple years, 10, like every other Oz network, reevaluates renewing shows on a yearly basis, so production likely wouldn't have known whether a new season was forthcoming or not until after the finale had aired in most cases.

Shay's pitch was utterly hopeless.

I don't think that Josh was a shoe in to win at all but I have no doubt he would have got some votes and made it interesting.

The reason I say this is the absolutely glowing praise that the jury had for Mark. They totally loved him, including players like Jordie, Jesse, Jordan and KJ (who all surprised me).

Josh v Mark would've been interesting, I think the fact the final 4 vote was unanimous means that Josh probably would have won

Bad season, casting a huge issue for the second season in a row, needs a big change if they get another season

The overnights were soft, but the DVR and tenplay numbers were really good. Especially in the 18-49 range which is tbe only one advertisers care about.

Casting has been dreadful but the way they edit a season has been the biggest killer. If these are the same people who put together Luke's two seasons then it boggles my mind the direction they have gone in since

Maybe not a shoe in but he would have felt like he was the favourite so just want to make sure you get there rather than worry who you are there with.

They loved Mark because of the complete fodder he was up against too

They definitely need a more diverse cast. Fewer bros and a wider range of ages, ethnicities and strategies would be good.

First season where all final players spoke well to the jury in their pitch; however, Mark was definitely the best player out of the final 3. I still think Jordie was the best player overall for the season, but hard to be annoyed at Mark winning either.

I must be honest, I thought Shay bottled her speech. I thought she could have spent a bit more time on her battle from the bottom, explained her way a bit more from purgatory...etc. It seems she go a bit tongue tied in the speech making aspect of the pitch.

I agree. Also rating her game play as an 8.5 was… a choice.

this is the biggest issue; they are more interested in how they look, whether they are a pro sportsperson, and/or whether they are popular on Insta. Game requires people who want to and know how to play.

Can anyone remember if during the final tribal any of Mark, Shay or Chrissy criticised each other's games? My recollection is that they were only ever talking themselves up.

2017 was the worst rating season unfortunately. They are catering to the casual viewer (people who dont watch every episode) and thats why it is edited as it is with all the repeat quotes etc. They got lucky with David and Haley/George but when you have unlikeable people at the end it backfires on you.

Well I don’t think they have cast it yet. I keep looking at casting as I want to get on it.

Given international borders now open it might go back to Fiji.

The last two seasons they have picked the players, there has been no casting auditions at all. And the prior one to that was an all-stars season.

Need to get back to basics.

That to me was the problem. Many of the contestants brought along another who really had no idea.
