It seems the newly promoted Ormond & HR aren't clubs befitting of Amateur status. The man responsible for adjudicating the cricket game I was playing on the weekend swears by the fact he was involved in a conversation whereby Mr.Sholly said the VAFA should be an Old Boys competition and the district clubs should be in the suburban leagues. Interesting opinion for the CEO of the league to have.

what a great idea suburban teams remain a blight on the VAFA

Too many Newbies trying to make a name for themselves starting new threads, this is and will be the only real B Section thread on BF.

Next thing muppets will be starting threads for each weeks games.

Boo hoo, do we get him a tissue???

I heard Cultrera was considering returning for one last hurahh, however Rambo would be BS. Which EFL coach? would guess Freemantle of East Ringwood fame. ISnt there a family connection??

trevor rowe to coach Old Carey next year. Former EFL player/coach

get real go tigers 2009

Big Mac is that all you have got after 12 months absence - come on big fella let loose.

I hear some big wigs at OMentone were 'rooting' for ya to take the coaching job especially your old mate teasa and Mr Fairweather.

All the best to you and the 'fab 5'..don't 'sit on the pine in '09' - give us something Big Mac, we missed ya.

I don't understand why the OM's are again rated fairly low. In the 2nd half of the year, they beat Marcellin (Premiers), St Bernards (3rd), Old Camberwell, as well as beating St Kevin's twice, Carey once and Caulfield once. Surely their 2nd season form would suggest they are better than 8th? Especially with Steven Greene among others to return to the junction?

Geez what a difference a month makes - first time I check this forum and I find there is 53 B section threads. What gives?
Old boy and ex-Ajax coach Stuart Powell is the SKOB senior coach for 09 - well done Powelly. Some murmurings of a couple of big player returns as well. Could Steve Powell pull on a jumper in 09??

Theres as much chance as Aaron Hamill playing for SKOB as Stevey Powell. Very exciting news with Powelly Senior and his assistant, who is perhaps the best credentialed assistant coach in the VAFA, just great to have him on board also.

All at Ajax wish Stuart Powell well at SKOBS... He is a true gentleman and a pleasure to have him at Ajax for 2 years..He deserved more than he got from some players and sure he will do well at SKOBS where he knows all the players and their weaknesses and strengths..will watch SKOBS with interest in 09...:thumbsu:

Very astute of you OTP. Old Melburnians will win the B-grade flag in 2009. You heard it here first.

It simply suggests the departure of the senior coach mid-season was welcomed by the playing group. As for Steven Greene (who was at Williamstown last I saw) and these 'others', I'd wait until about early April to see if their mooted returns actually materialise. Many a boom VAFA recruit has flown the coup on the eve of the $ea$on for a better offer el$ewhere.

Given OMs survived the last 3 seasons narrowly, you should be flattered that they aren't in most people's bottom 2.

Kornal Dachs is the best no.2 coach in the VAFA Brian and i thought you didn't like this 2009 thread ! you should know the rest FO

May have already been stated on here but i heard the following strong rumor over the weekend.

Cal Potter will not be at St. Bernard's next year - that's a given!

I heard the same rumour in the summer of 06, 07 and now 08. You will find he is not going anywhere and your source is wrong.

I warned them a few months ago about the state of affairs at the Dogs and if they didnt appoint a high profile coach what the ramifications would be. Potter signed with Keilor on friday and Tate is also on the move . This arrogant attittude that we have that we are the best club in our area and players will never leave us must change because the facts state that over the last few seasons we simply are not . Committee from the top down get your heads out of the sand because if you dont we wont be seeing A section for some time .
