And remember the VAFA got to within 1 point of the Vic Country team. How would a Vic County club side (ie Echuca Murray Bombers) go up against a VAFA club side (ie Old Melburnians)?

Quite correct Freddie... Mifsud will be coaching the sharks next year and will be appointing his next of kin in the coming weeks.
I see young Luke Leigh of the Beauy Sharks is off to the mighty magpies in 2008 as a rookie..he is a great kid and I hope he has long AFL career...how many other B grade teams had kids drafted this year ? I know of Cookie from St bedes but are there any others?
Having watched a bit of hampden league and b grade i think your a bit of the mark thinking they would beat any b grade side easily far from it.

Rabs, Glenn Chivers played in the SKOB U19s this year, unlike your young whipper snapper who has never played a VAFA game. Young Glenn was drafted by St Kilda at pick 8 in the Rookie draft, well done.
Mifsud will be good at Beauy, lets just hope they dont go the Hailebury way to success.
How come Skob didn't give young Chivers a run in the seniors if he was so talented? Should be a much needed financial windfall for the club now he has been drafted. It's about $5,000 for a rookie listed player isn't it?
I think you will find that Chivers didn't play for the unders at all just school footy.

No chip Slay, A-Section is the premier competition in the state, but I have little doubt that the Hampden League premiers would defeat a B-Grade side. Matter of opinon and not important as there is no right or definitive answer and we could argue all day. However I will say just because you don't know much about that or any other league doesn't mean it isn't quality, but I guess ignorance is bliss.

Fair call Monkey (on it being your opinion)...saw them both play twice during the year. They play such different styles (Vermonts ground is so small). Would be a great game to see.
Perhaps Jas can organise a Pre-season game?

The whipper snapper actually played 3 Senior VAFA games & 6 U19 VAFA games this year as per records - thus when not playing Dragons he went back to the VAFA to nuture his skills.
BFC, like any district side will ride the elation of any selection and in the past few years as you know have produced Blake, Fisher (Saints), Spriggs etc, and another Rookie Krieger to Fremantle 2 years ago. It means recognition for their 8-9 year development at Banksia and the $$ coming back. I think you would agree, Good luck to the lad from all at the VAFA.
Great news on Mifsud, however I believe there is a clause that if 3-4 players the committee have promise do not turn up then he is out - thus no announcement at the moment. When it comes then they are there.

Caulfield are going great guns at the minute - Colling has unleashed 4-5 unknowns that are tearing up the track at the minute. Sources do not know who they are but they have 40-50 on track each session at the minute.
Obviously you need to get new sources then Cardio!

Interesting; though if this is true i am curious why he is still actively involved in recruiting for Old Carey; he rang a mate of mine last week trying to set up a meeting. Holland is a close mate of the coach, and when we played them said he had every intention of playing more than one season.

I think you may have your footballers mixed up. Parton and Holland are not the same person.
Have to agree with Half Back Pocket on this one. Vermont are a very impressive unit. I would have them, Greenvale and OX in the top 3 in the metro footy. Still, they (Vermont & Old Xavs) could play twice and have two different results. Over to you Jase...

OX and Vermont either way 1,2 but i can't cop Greenvale. Nobel Park and East Ringwood would easily make up the top 4 or 5. You rate the EDFL too highly. IMO
The boys were chewing the fat last night and the topic came up - If you could take any player from any other B Grade club who would you take? I said I'd want Huw Lacey at Keilor Hill. Who would your club take?

Huw is in a grade. If playing along those lines then your number 1 selection from b grade 07 would be the new polish hurdling coach D. Kinsella.

Well success does follow him 2 b grade and 1 c grade flag not bad for a bloke you think everyone is scared to piss off from there club.
