At 73 you'd think he'd be ready to retire, but good on him. I guess he just really loves football, the job is a piece of p**s for him to do and he just makes some nice extra coin to hand down to the kids and grandkids.

It looks like Balme's on the board. I think Sheedy gets/got $100K for his Board duties at EFC.

Kudos to Gale for bringing him back to the club. Gale pushes him sideways and out.

The age had that article the cafe sacking. Balme was on Front Bar, months later, not bitter. Balme was at every Qld game Member functions.

That’s the biggest crime from this, fortunately I won’t have to live through the next 37 years

Hartley and Livingstone were doing all the work while Balmey was there. This had been going on for years before he stepped aside officially. You reckon Balmey was in charge of list management? Was he running match committee? Was he doing kpis for all the coaches, hiring and firing?
He was a fantastic, calming influence and dealt with a lot of the media crap but that’s about it.
