No way is Reid by himself more valuable than Treloar. If he plays solidly through the back half of this season with no sign of injury then he has currency, but not for a top tier 21 year old midfielder.
Thinking of trading Reid is misguided IMO. Until he puts together a solid period of decent footy at AFL level, we will get severely reduced value for him.
Must have been your cold feet in the middle of my back then...I'm sleeping with Miranda Kerr... She will deny it, but it's true!
Did you read my post? I said when fit. So, in a perfect world, where Reid isn't made of glass, a 26 year old All Australian defender is more valuable than a 21 year old gun mid. All day, every day.
Hence, why I said, Reid's fragility brings his value back to make it (in my opinion) more even.

Umm maybe you should read that again.. I said it's a fact that we MIGHT never see him again.. and then you edited to say that's a possibility.. when I just said the possibility was a fact... *facepalm*
Sigh
(1) Ed is on the record saying "Proud Collingwood doesn't cheat".
(2) Formally offering a player a contract during the year is in contravention of the AFL trade rules.
We would be completely ******ed to give up that much for a midfielder and a forward with a dodgy knee.A Treloar and Patton deal if we're going full fantasy scenarios I imagine would look more like Treloar and Patton for Elliott, Witts, Reid and our first round draft selection.
And even then it's rarely so easy to get anyone interested in moving. And certainly not so many big time pieces on both sides.
I must be really drunk when I watch GWS games (which is rarely) cause I barely notice him
Could we be targeting Treloar ahead of Shiel purely because he's open to offers where Shiel is not?
“I love the club,” Treloar told the Daily Telegraph.
“I’ve got no plans to leave, it’s just a matter of time before I can get a deal organised. I’m definitely one who wants to sign.”
Treloar is one of many Giants including star forward Jeremy Cameron, Stephen Coniglio, Dylan Shiel and number one draft picks Jonathon Patton and Tom Boyd who are all out of contract at the end of next season. But Treloar believes he won’t be the only one to recommit to the fledgling club.
“I think it’s going to happen with a lot of other players,” Treloar said.
“Just because a lot of players haven’t signed yet a lot of people wonder if they we are going to leave because we’re from Melbourne but there are a lot of players who are going to re-sign at the end of this year or next year.”
Part BRarely really drunk, or rarely watching GWS games?
This is pretty much what Giants fans think, Treloar seems like a guy who loves the club and wants to build, Shiel is probably on his way outFrom what I have read it would be the other way around.
Treloar has never stated a desire to leave and in fact has stated he loves it their and urged all of them to stick to together and be part of history.
Sheil rumours have been circulating for a while now he want back to Vic.

Also, for what it's worth - it would take a reasonably high end player to get Treloar from us. I wouldn't compare it to your unfortunate Beams deal last year because I just can't see him only wanting to play for Collingwood, I think if he wanted to leave - it would just be to return to Vic in general, not a specific club.

His twitter also has a lot of love on it for his club.
Just an example many more.
