A forward line past its best is what I see there.

Hall might be the best option available, but I'm not sure if he'll actually make that much difference to teh dogs.

Hope I'm wrong, I really like the dogs!

He doesn't need to make a big difference. Just present as a tall forward and give us a target when we need him.

Yep our forwardline will have some oldies down there, but our midfield will get better again next year and that is where our improvement will come from.

IIRC Hall has had a pretty good run with injuries. My best guess is that he will be in a lot better knick than Carey and Plugger when they returned.

Make him train with Cross. ;)

Hall is the best trainer at the Swans, as reported by Captain Kirk himself!!!

Yeah I think he kicked 78 in the H & A season of 05. I watched the dvd last week, he was awesome that year. If he kicks 50-60 (which is definitely possible) you guys will go close to winning next year. I'm glad that if he had to play on he's playing with the bulldogs. All the best Barry, you were great for us, now do your best (except against us!) for the doggies!
Not really,.
Roughhead and Franklin kicked 50 -70 goals tis year and Hawks were shithouse.
J.R - 51 goals
L. F - 67 goals.

Hall could stifle the Doggies goalkickers.

Fair enough on RH and LF, but who is Hall going to stifle? Johnson hasn't got the height for the foward line (better off playing up the field), Minson can't hack it, nor Hudson when he goes forward. Murphy the same as Johnson. Bulldogs midfield is in excellent shape (BTW this was one of the Hawks real problems this year- too many injuries in midfield and defense), so if anything Hall is going to create space for smaller forwards to work the 50. Even if Hall doesn't kick a lot, he creates an excellent contest and target. Well he did for us for 7 odd years.

Im not sure that has been the problem when the eyes roll back in his head and instinct takes over.

I hope he does great at the dogs.

Agreed....here's hoping he doesn't play 1 game before you have to 'retire' him again.

So what will be the trade, 2nd round?

Can someone explain why they offered anything above the minimum?

You get paid what your worth and both the bulldogs and Bazza think he's worth more than the minimum..........

Best of luck its sad to see his go, he was a premiership captain but he was getting a bit pissy with us loosing. Maybe being in a good team he will hold it together.

Opposition supporters might think that's the case, but Hall, Aker and Johnno are the icing on the cake.

Higgins, Hahn, Giansiracusa, Murphy, Hill, Minson, and up and comers Roughead and Cordy. Then we've got goals coming from Cooney, Griffen, Gilbee and Ward as well.

Not bad.
