You realise the ball isn’t in the Suns court right? He’s out of contract. If another club comes knocking with an offer of almost guaranteed AFL games next year, plus presumably more money and years who is saying no to that?
Ned is saying no to that :)

Ned played 4 games so far this year. You can tell he is progressing but is not a ready #1 ruck for the whole season. He can see Witts is approaching the end. Next two years is ideal transition.

Suns should be exciting team to play for in coming years. He loves it on GC as far as I know, and his manager did not seek offers from other teams yet. BTW, Mac was on the most recent Chats with Rat. Ned is his buddy and are living together. Mac seems committed to future success.

He will get a decent offer from Suns too. Staying for a bit less, for the opportunity to play with Mac, Rowell, Anderson, King, the list goes on and to make finals for the first time, who is saying no to that? Haha.

I see only Collingwood as a serious contender for Ned. A big club in Victoria. He played there in VFL. Cox is close to end. Cameron and Moyle would be a nice pairing.

Im not sure where the talk of Moyle leaving has even come from, I'd be astounded if they let him go, was recruited to be next in line to Witts and hes 32 in September and had 3 or 4 injury niggles already this year.

Read is years away from being ready for senior footy and the jury is out if hes even a Ruckman at senior level.

Witts is signed til end 2026 and given hes the captain i doubt moyle is waiting 2 years. And they cant play in the same side.

Crows 2nd will be early 20s. Happily give that up plus the usual shuffle of later picks to muddy the waters.
We traded away our second round pick as part of the deal that got us pick 8 last year.

We have Melbourne's second rounder.

Ethan Read to me is projecting to be a tall forward more then a ruck also so I suspect he will have the 1st choice role for certain once Witts retires
Moyle 1st ruck, Read Forward/Ruck would be the plan in a year or two you'd think.

What the Suns do with Read and Andrew will be interesting.

Gee, that aged poorly.

That's going to be a very tall forward line, between King, Lukosius, Walter and Read. At least the Suns are covered if Lukosius demands a trade.

Moyle re-signed for 4 years.
4 years is pretty big for a mid-season draftee, who's 22yo and only has 6 games under his belt.
Good luck to him and the Suns. I have no ill will to either, but not sure it's great list management.
Great game against Geelong, but GC dominated the game in general and he was up against Toby Conway (who's also played 6 games). Plus hitouts and clearances was probably the one area of the game that they didn't dominate.
How many other clubs would be offering him more than 2 years at this stage? Obviously it won't be on big coin, but not many teams would offer a 6 gamer a 4 year contract. I do like seeing players stick with GC though.
