Welcome to Baz Stats for Season 27. For those of you who followed along in Season 26, welcome back. For those of you unfamiliar with Baz Stats, I have sought to determine the impact of individual player performances in the context of the conditions each match is played in. Dry games typically result in a high number of possessions, high scores and high Dream Team scores. Rainy/muddy conditions usually see lower possessions, scores and Dream Team scores. It’s very easy to look at a list and say those with the highest Dream Team scores were the better players but I look a little deeper to see who the real stars are each round.

This is quite an intensive project so I will not be keeping up with it as in-depth week-to-week this season. Instead, I will provide a summary each week of the top ten players for the round as well as some key stats for the round. I will provide a more in-depth look every few rounds and introduce a new stat this season, plus/minus, which measures how much a team scores/concedes while an individual player is on the field.

Last season, it was apparent that my methodology heavily favoured muddy conditions. I have sought to minimise this impact while continuing to reflect the lower possessions expected from a game in such conditions. Individual statistics will have a multiplier applied to them based on the weather conditions the game is played in. These multipliers are based on my collection of data from Season 26.

Thanks for reading and I hope this thread adds something to your Sweet FA experience this season.

The Warriors kicked off their season in style with a 40-point win against the Furies led by pantskyle's 31 disposals. The Half Back was equally impressive picking up 26 disposals and 15 hitouts in a 12-point loss to the Dragons, who were lead by former skipper Hatchy1992 and his 26 disposals and seven marks. Bears' ruck rover Doctor Gero collected 15 touches and nine tackles in muddy conditions at the Coliseum, registering 104 ADT points for his efforts. Hawks rookie and round 1 Rising Star nominee ArdentEagle also featured prominently on debut.

I had a game with 7 disposals and 5 frees against. Can you also compensate for me just being generally angry and poor and wanting to hit people?
I can't compensate your desire to be a Fury

Don't judge me, I'm a wolf-kin and I'll bite you. The suits are really expensive to dry clean though and I'm on a budget so someone needs to help me out.
Take them to Maccas and use the hand dryers

An epic battle on the wing between brahj (33 dispoalsa, six marks, two goals) and Blaze Storm (26 disposals, eight marks, six tackles) saw both finish in this week's top five narrowly behind Dragons ruckman gym4life who finished the day with 30 disposals, 15 hitouts and five tackles. Meanwhile, the centres dominated at the Snow Dome with _Cayz_ and 3KZ is Football collecting 31 disposals and 32 disposals respectively. Las Vegas Bears' ruck rover Doctor Gero finished in the top ten for the second week in a row having collected 23 disposals and seven tackles in rainy conditions in a narrow loss to the Bombers.

The Warriors' dominance continued with a 54-point win marking back-to-back 50-points and three wins by 40 points or more to open season 27. This time it was the rest of their ruck division leading the way with Wooshette posting an incredible ADT of 138 on the back of 37 disposals, 16 hitouts, six tackles and two goals and TheInjuryFactory posting the eqaul second-highest ADT of the round with 118. The Wonders collected their first win of the season, led by KBLT (27 disposals, nine marks, three goals) and okeydoke7 (nine goals, five tackles). Demons' first-gamer Callums_Guns shot out of the blocks with 31 disposals and nine marks en route to an ADT of 106 and a Rising Star nomination.

Proper Gander topped all players this round for Dream Team points but is joined at the top of the leaderboard by pantskyle and Ant Bear after accounting for weather conditions, with each scoring an impressive 113 ADT points. NaturalDisaster and round 2 Rising Star nominee, AceAndy, crack the top ten for the first time this season on the back of 29 disposals and 27 disposals respectively. Nearly a third of season 27 is done already and everyone has at least won a game and lost a game already. Most stats are hovering around season 26 levels with disposals ad goalkicking accuracy down slightly while scoring shots are up. 40 players across the league have played every minute while Danger Zone (WCW) has played the least of all players who have played every game this season, playing 274 minutes for an average of 55 minutes/game. His time on the ground hasn't been terribly productive with the Wonders being outscored by 50 points while he's been on the ground this season. Spare a thought though for Furies veteran Hate, who has a plus/minus of -162 from less than 80 minutes played per game.

At the other end, the Warriors make up positions 2 through 19 for individual plus/minus, such has been their dominance through the early part to the season. The number one position however is occupied by lion around (MBD) with a plus/minus of 188 from 314 minutes played. This equates to the Demons outscoring their opponents by sixty points for every 100 minutes lion around plays.

The Warriors have been led by their ruck rover, pantskyle, who leads all players with an Adjusted Dream Team score of 512 and is the only player in the league to average more than 100 ADT per game. Despite his early form, pantskyle has only scored more than 100 ADT twice this season, one of eleven players to do so. Sin City Swamprats ruck rover, philreich, has scored at least 100 ADT three times this season, the only player to do so, and is second on the ADT leaderboard through five rounds. Fellow Swamprat, Nunez, has only topped 100 ADT once this season but made the weekly top ten twice and sits third on the season leaderboard. Fourth place is occupied by former Dragons skipper Hatchy1992, having finished fourth in the weekly leaderboard twice this season, and Demons wingman Proper Gander rounds out the top five despite an average showing of 54 ADT points in round 2.

Round 7 belonged to Furies ruckman, Tigerturbulance, such was his dominance in the Furies' 42-point win over the Hawks at Waverley Park. The big man collected 39 disposals. 15 hitouts and six goals en route to the highest Adjusted Dream Team score registered this season of 147, eclipsing Wooshette's mark of 138 set in round 3. His opposite number, The Half Back, picked up 27 disposals, 19 hitouts and 114 ADT points, second among all players in round 7. Warriors ruck rover, pantskyle, achieved his third top three finish in just seven rounds this season while with his skipper, Wooshette, collecting her third top ten finish. Season highs of 530 disposals per game and 110 marks per game were recorded this week, helped along by the aforementioned game between the Furies and Hawks, which registered in the top five games for season 27 for disposals (639 - first), handballs (313 - first), marks (132 - equal first), scoring shots (68 - second), kicks (326 - second), goals (third), hitouts (34 - equal third) and behinds (28 - equal fourth).
