Number of stretches of 2+ days w/o a BBL group match:
1: BBL|04, BBL|05, BBL|06, BBL|07
2: BBL|01, BBL|02, BBL|08
3: BBL|03

Number of stretches of 3+ days w/o a BBL group match:
0: BBL|02, BBL|04, BBL|05, BBL|06, BBL|07
1: BBL|03, BBL|08
2: BBL|01
I believe your case just got rested

BBL 09 starts soon!
Although I am hearing that MKR|10 is an extended season, everyone goes to everyone's house 4 times, then there is a pre-finals week off, then a wildcard round, conference semi-finals, conference finals and then a best-of-7 grand final.

I will be really annoyed if BBL|09 interferes with MKR|10. Too much MKR is never enough!

BBL09 will be played in the backyards of the MKR contestant's houses. I guarantee you Ben cutting would still fail to clear the rope

This is absolutely crazy. The season runs at an insane speed until now when it comes to a complete halt. Dragging it out miserably and losing fan interest

Some utter BS from a Hun article I posted on the previous page:
"A clash with either high-rating program would push the BBL on to a secondary channel, which Cricket Australia wants to avoid.
Channel 7 does not want the BBL disrupting its flagship shows, although the network said it was CA’s call.
“We’re comfortable with CA’s scheduling that will make it accessible for young families at the start of the school week,” a Seven spokesman said.
"

Ok, let's say we buy part of this bullshit and agree that Cricket Australia suggested a day final because it was a school night. OK, fair enough. But are we also to believe that Cricket Australia wanted no BBL to be played last night, tonight and tomorrow night? That their wishes just conveniently matched channel 7's wish to have MKR on Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday night this week?

And this idea can get ****ed:
"The Herald Sun revealed last year CA was considering an NFL-style Super Bowl approach, where the host city is locked in before the season."

Um, no, just no

It's not like your mob have ever been denied a home final though because of a potential clash on a completely unrelated stadium.

Wouldn't mind it if CA made a statement somewhere down the line admitting that they totally bollocksed the BBL scheduling, with our without the allusion to the TV deal.

Should just make it like State Cricket where you get an automatic contract after a certain number of games.

Can you remind me why the BBL|04 final was played in Canberra? I'm not sure I even knew why at the time.

Wasn't it due to grounds having to be free for the World Cup? The WC was like a month later but I remember the ICC having some crazy rules surrounding use of grounds leading up to it.

I get that CA now have a contractual obligation to have 59 games because of the TV deal, but it's ridiculous as a Gades fan we officially secured finals last Wednesday (despite being very up and down) and have to wait until next Thursday or Friday for our final.

No-one really watches it for the "quality" (otherwise more would watch international T20's), so CA should bring three teams in (Say Gold Coast, Canberra and Geelong) and have those 11 teams play each other once which makes 55 games. Have a 4v5 wildcard then the semis with 1 v wildcard and 2v3 and then the final. The season would be shorter as CA can schedule a double header on Friday and Sunday and a triple header on Saturday. I also think 10 games for each team was the right amount

Foxtel would have been perfect for games this week.

He wasn’t able to play? He has been in the side all season?
Apparently he was a replacement player (initially for Finch) and has been able to play because there was always someone called up for national duty (either Finch or Harris), but now that Australia is finished for the summer he has nobody to replace

If this was a Sydney team all sorts of calls would be getting thrown around.
