At what point does the sport have to accept its the supporters that matter

Giving up and abandoning the game seems way too easy and commonplace in cricket

Yet if a ball smashes QDK’s arm off a length you would be opening yourself up to be sued.

At least the Stars Lavington clash will go ahead!!!
To be fair to Albury game last year. They did a very good job with that and the crowds flocked to that game. Im hearing that 1 in every 7 from Albury was down there.

Decent wicket too.

There is a reason why Albury retained their BBL fixture this year.

Wouldn't you know it... the two best teams over the 13 year history have the smartest list management strategy.

Yep. My personal preference is the BBL should be over before the SA tournament starts

People saying the groundsman are just unlucky, it was pissing down all day yesterday and that forecast was well known days out. As Vaughan is saying, just put extra covers down and be extra cautious. This should never happen.

No guarantee another 6 covers would have helped we don’t have hover covers on these grounds lol

Can't wait for ipl team owners to take over these bbl teams, so we can finally get some proper resources into this competition

It appears its just difficult to bat than dangerous
Few sports throw the towel in and abandon play like cricket

The last ball is just lucky it wasn’t on the stumps would have smashed Inglis in the head off a length

Over 10 000 in attendance on a 35 degree for a game played at 3:30pm.

Was a raging success.

Victoria and NSW played a shield game for points at the same venue last summer as well.

I’m tipping you’ve never played on a wet wicket with a bowler of pace and been standing at the other end? Everything that you’ve trained yourself to do gets thrown out the window, the ball pops off a length, takes divots out of the pitch, it’s a lottery not a game. Cricket and rain/ water do not mix

Pakistan's warm up and now a BBL game abandoned due to water on the pitch making them unplayable, perhaps there is more to this than just the ground staff not doing their jobs properly. May be current techniques are just inadequate with the more extreme storms we are getting in the southeast of the country, the storm that hit Canberra not only ruined the pitch (and perhaps Tuesday's as well) but it damaged the electricity grid and it only last a few minutes.

Like any other sport faced with rain, you adapt

You can’t adapt if you could get whacked in the head. I assume you have the same thoughts on horses racing in every conditions doesn’t matter how wet, just adapt right? There’s some circumstances like tonight you make the right call.
