the ball was seaming sideways early doors..keep trying to convince yourself the toss wasn't a massive factor

It was made to look worse by players not playing smart. Hit it on the ground get your singles, Connolly showed how to bat

Perth have to be angry with Finn Allen don't they., 3 hits and has lasted 10 balls if that?

The bloke at 3 is just as bad. To think they let Ho of Evans for these two

Too many complain when T20s not a slog-athon from ball 1

Nothing wrong when there's bit of an early contest between bat & ball, where the batsmen who put in the work early get the rewards later in their innings

connolly played down the line to one 2nd ball he faced..He missed it by half a meter

and its xactly what the renegades didnt have to early on batting..try and work it out if it was an advantage

lol

So he played straight which is wait for it good batting. So what if there’s a bit of movement early you can still play solid Shield like cricket shots and like Cooper wait for the bad ball otherwise take the singles. Batsmen these days are ridiculously precious if the ball moves a millimeter they will shout from the rafters how poor the pitch was. What was stopping Inglis or Turner playing straight and taking the innings deep?

It’s funny how hard it was early yet the opening batsman top scored…

Yep and looked bar a couple relatively untroubled. These batsmen need to grow a pair not every surface is a road

Yep the most boring games in t20 are 200 plus games. Exactly how interesting is it people slogging sixes with no footwork for 3 hours. Give me a 150 game to 180 at most game. Everyone is in the game in these games.

well in a t20 game where one team faces big movement and the other team doesn't it probably is huge ...numpty

So what. Everyone whinges about how the pitches never do anything and the game is so skewed in favour of batsmen:

The first three Renegades wickets to fall owed something to the pitch - two batsmen defeated by the ball holding up off it and another who edged behind with even the cricinfo commentary alluding to seam movement off the wicket.

Perhaps if the likes of Ashton Turner didn’t try and hit the ball that bowled him into the third tier while there was still a hit happening and with his team still trying to consolidate, they might have been in a better position to launch and build even more on what was ultimately a fairly decent score?

Even Inglis and I love Josh caught on the boundary at deep mid wicket. Why is he trying to plonk a length ball at that stage into the stands? Was it more poor batting than the pitch? For me it was more the poor batting techniques and players not lowering the target- after the first 2-4 overs it should have been let’s play straighter get 150 and defend it.

The batters didn't do themselves any favours but the pitch was diabolical.

The game was pretty much won at the toss.

Its too hard for some posters to understand the pitch was different for both teams and therefore hugely affected the result

'but but Turner played a dumb shot':drunk:

mind numbing logic
