This BBL has really showcased the inflexibility of a lot of our batters.

Nearly every game the ball does a heap in the first ten then does very little in the back 10 and teams have put a lot of runs on in the back 10 even after losing a lot of wickets in first 10.

Teams are still going super hard in the first 10 and losing a ton of wickets though which limits their ability to make the most of the conditions in the back 10.

I love how Ponting can be so damning with such feint commentary.

In the T20 context, Ponting saying "ooh, that's a bad one" is akin to him slitting your throat.

Awful shot from Bethell too, Stars raging favourites now.

Big turnaround from 7/75 but if one player for the renegades (probably has to be seifert) bats through they aren't gone.

But so what? The batsmen completed one run, they get one run. Why should it even be a penalty?

Depends on the situation:

"a short run penalty is five penalty runs awarded to the fielding side if the batting team deliberately runs short or attempts to "steal" a run."

If it's an inadvertent situation where the player has attempted to make their ground but touched short, the umpire will signal a short run but there won't be a penalty

It's situations like the David one where he touched a good metre short with the only intention being to get back on strike, that the 5-run penalty will apply

Surely you bowl Paris out

He is a terrible death bowler anyway

They will bowl him out and go for the jugular.
But it means either stoinis or Webster might have to bowl an over in the surge.

Yep that sounds right.
Here is the team.Nov.2017 1st test Australia v England,Australia won by 10 wickets.Bancroft,Warner,Khawja,Smith,Handscomb,S.Marsh,Paine,Starc,Cummins,Hazelwood and Lyon.(That bowling attack has played a lot of tests as a group,no wonder Boland has struggled to get in despite getting all those wickets for Victoria in that period)
