According to todays West, on Monday following the match harvey ordered the players into the boxing ring.

Apparantly Broughton beat the crap out of Haselby and Head beat the crap out of Sheppard.

Ahh, following the path of the great Robert Walls, we are almost certainly bound for glory.

i reckon his eyebrows might have gone completely vertical.. could hardly recognise him last week when he talked to the media and he didn't have his 'game face' on... i wonder if he's always been like that or if he's just really bought into harvey's coaching - most of the other players of course seem not nearly so ready to eat their opponents' children (sorry - just watched the tyson doco last night is all - which while we're on the topic sure attests to the way harvs gets boxing about as much as he seems to get footy.. ie. its not about fighting your way out of stuff.. this is a good article that sums up my feelings nicely.. http://www.theage.com.au/news/rfnew...1250362118811.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap1

What the f*5k is a dead set dfouche bagger of heads order doing beating up a rookie 17/18 year old?

Don't get me wrong, Head is a useless twat, but he is still 26/27 and has been in the proffesional football scene for quiete some time. While Sheppard is just coming onto the scence. Is it just me or doe sit seem a bit wrong?

Getting wholloped by a guy who is going to be delisted without a doubt will do nothing for him of which I can see any positive in the future.

I would have loved to see a Head/Gilmore/Muprhy/Campbell/Browne/Connelly/O'Brien/Drum battle of the contracts death match style senario, whereby the winner gets to keep his spot on the team, while the rest get their contracts torn up.

Could have charged $50 a head and held it on the middle of freo Oval. Would have beebn a dead set sell out.

The Brockinator would pound shit out of them.

Perhaps they were matched according to height? (eg. Hase vs Broughton; Head vs Sheppeard)

thinking of some of our players boxing is cracking me up.

Mundy VS Murphy

Gilmore (please dont hit my head) VS Soloman

Kepler VS Peake

And to running bouncer.... nice article linked however all of those hard men coaches have been very successful. In contrast to Cuddles Connolly and Ken Judge. I am of the view that amongst a group of successful and (perhaps) slightly egotistical youngsters it is better to have lead by example and had the success in order to be able to speak with authority.

I dunno about all this.

Part of me thinks it's good to instill a bit of mongrel, but the other part of me thinks it's a bit too old school and pointless really.

It seems a throwback to a bygone era and I'm now wondering if Harves is astute enough to take us forward. Then again, I guess it could also demonstrate who's got the internal desire to really win a contest.

I would have paid that $50 to see it all too.

Or Peaker v Hedland or Broughton
Mundy v Hedland or Solly

Peake and Mundy need the shit beaten out of them, get some backbone in them.

Gilmore would have trouble handling a punching bag.

Headland v Grover would be good to see.

The EGirls do boxing as a regular part of their training, and I'm sure other clubs do too, so those getting all precious about it needn't.
