just a question to both west coast and port adelaide supporters, if geelong made a move for one of the above players, what would you expect to recieve from geelong in order for a fair trade to have been made for each?
cheers

Jason Davenport.
Ideally WCE would want a late first round pick or early second round. McKinley is a quality player and I would expect Woosha to want just that for him.
Ash Hansen is said to be resigning, but hes about worth a second rounder, or Gary Ablett Jnr ;-)
fair enough, is he seriously a consideration to be traded mckinley? and if it wasnt for a draft pick, what player from geelong would you say would be a fair trade? because i think another medium experienced forward is what geelong might be after.
I would say that Mckinley+39 for pick 16+48 would be around the mark.fair enough, is he seriously a consideration to be traded mckinley? and if it wasnt for a draft pick, what player from geelong would you say would be a fair trade? because i think another medium experienced forward is what geelong might be after.

If a late first rounder was up for grabs, i'm sure that WC would be more inclined to trade him due to the probability of being able to get Jetta there.
Mckinley has said he would want to be a one club player but remours continually link him in trades back to Victoria. Combine that with his loss of favour this year and it could be a possibility.
Hansen is an interesting one. I wouldn't mind a straight swap for Stokes (or including some steak-knives), giving us a crumbing option.

So not willing to give up a class player or early pick? You won't pick up anyone decent then....I don't know about that. We're more looking for a key forward (keeping in mind Mooney's age) potential CHF type and while McKinley's decent enough, I don't think he can play that role, so I'd be surprised if we went for him.
But anyway, to indulge your hypothetical, I would say a draft pick (not a first rounder) or a fringe player trade (there's no way we're giving up any of our class players to anyone except GC). I would be happy to offer say Stokes, but he's too loved by the coach for that I think

besides a first round pick would anything else be a consideration for mckinley from geelong? any straight player swaps?
how about tenace and ediriwickrama for mckinley + 4th round pick?
If your looking for a CHF Hansen is your man, in your team he would be at least as good as 05/06/07 and regularly kicks bags at WAFL level. He doesnt want to leave the Eagles but may be forced out the door, we certainly would rather trade him then have him play another year in the WAFL because we have Kennedy and Brown.
Wouldnt mind Hansen + #23 for #17/18
Hansen on the open market is probably worth around pick #22-25 in this draft.
Thinking about your tall forwards, Hansen would probably be one of the best right now.
You have 2 key forwards who cant get regular games with the 12th ranked team and you want a first or second rounder for both players.
Strange Indeed !
Hansen is a spud.Hansen is a 26r old contrated premiership CHF if a club knocks on the door and says we want him that is what we would expect to be compensated. He is a good player he just wont be there for our next crack and we have two blokes that will who are played before him.
Hansen is a spud.
No club is going to cough up pick 22-25 for him.
Go have a look at the OP's question, what do you think WC would ask for Hansen? Ive got a pretty good feeling that is what they would ask considering he is contracted...
Then thats our fault for giving him such a long contract. Hansen has practically no worth to us as at all. As much as the Eagles may be saying in public that he is required player, the reality is we will give him up for a pack of twisties if we can come trade week.
