Maiden gully 3rds will most likely play in the bfl, filo and monfries coaching already makes the step easier, short term pain for real long term gain for the club I'd think. 3 years time, they can be strath

Not if they don’t change their committee.

I can we the merger between maiden gully and YCW falling apart if they don’t sort out some of the issues goin on

Taking what you’re saying at face value, why on earth would Bendigo league “vote” to admit under 18 team without doing some obvious due diligence? Maybe they’re pre empting an 8 team comp in 2024 and doing the short term pain, long term gain thing.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in the instance of maiden gully you’re advocating for a club who finished bottom in seniors in 2023,and don’t have a thirds side to make the step up to a major league that is albeit a shadow of its former glory?

No longer a major comp sorry

Forgive my ignorance, seen plenty of mentions of AFLCV in here - is BFL administered by the AFL same as Goulburn Valley or run by its own administration? Seems that leagues run by their own employees are getting better gates and engagement from what I've seen. Obviously doesn't mean any better standard of football but leagues under their own administration seem to be running smoother from what I've seen & articles I've read along with comments around forums/socials etc.

Goulburn Valley very poorly run. A few massive mistakes in the past few years, very unorganised.

O&M one of the best ran leagues. Onfield, off field, news, social media, the whole lot.

The AFL CV commission are responsible for the growth of Australian rules football in the region.

Their strategic plan is now 2 years out of date which should have been updated post Covid any way.

Strange set up in BFNL at present.
League boss acting in aflcv boss role.
BFNL & AFLCV Commission not exchanging Christmas cards based on recent public statements, particularly at the BFNL leadership end.
League would be rightly pissed they’re getting a second rate service they might be shelling out for.
When will penny drop to cease this admin arrangement?
But have the BFNL got the Bugs Bunny to bankroll a decent administratrator/s of their own.

Bit off topic, but has the AFLCV commission lost a few?
Heard the other day Holt and Harrington have both stepped away.

Also haven’t heard anything about Armsteads replacement.
Have no firm understanding what happening here, but commissions, when they were established, had a max term an individual could serve before they had to get off.
