Chapter 2. AFLVIC hate us.
Chapter 3. The BNFL board are out to get us.
Chapter 4. Sandhurst steal all the juniors.
Chapter 5. Umpires are no good. Are they incompetent?
Blah Blah Blah
I reckon 1 minute 40 seconds

Sounds like a bestseller, although Crazy might need me to write chapter 5.

Good luck in the only major comp with 6 teams in it

Lose the regional clubs you lose the passion and community spirit

The comp is Rooted

Been to a game at Eaglehawk? Or Strath or Golden Square.

Plenty of community spirit and passion at those great clubs.

The non Bendigo clubs do not own community spirit.

Another ignorant comment from you

Get real will ya.

I was involved last season and saw first hand the passion and community suppport that has built that club from the ground up. Your comments are insulting to all the people at the club.

The games you have been to probably have had no atmosphere because your mob has been uncompetitive for however long.

Last weekends crowd atmosphere v Sandhurst was excellent.

I come from a country club and can tell you that Strathfieldsaye is a well supported, well run and excellent community football club that has worked its arse off for all it has achieved

And your not a positive wrap for Maryborough to look at Carisbrook as an option to keep that “Regional” club going!

No idea again
Whilst I don’t agree with much of what Crazy has to say

The MCDFL interleague side would get beaten by Castlemaine - the second worse side in the BFL by 150 +.

Will all respect good on the blokes for having a run around in the comp - but it would be close to the worse comp in Australia.

There’s blokes playing seniors at Trentham - one of the better sides who wouldn’t get a game in any BFL reserves side.

Where are they looking? Ballarat?

Hope they don't think the GV will roll out the red carpet. I have heard the views from two GVL clubs on this topic and Eaglehawk might be surprised at the sharpness of the response - that is unless there are secret plans for a northern super league to start in 2025 or 2026.

I am sure they won't ditch Mansfield for the sake of Eaglehawk. So if it somehow came to being then the two clubs will enjoy a lazy two and a half hour drive each way between them.

I really find that that so far of the mark it’s not funny.
Rep side beaten by 25 goals by Castlemaine.
Really!
There are players at Maine who had low impact in the last 2 yrs playing in the mcdfnl.
For sure there are teams who are plain enough agreed.
But let’s keep it a little real.
Mcdfnl has too many teams and as stated previously needs some realignment like a lot of leagues do.

I agree Master. The statement is well off the mark. I like the comment about the MCDFNL being the worst league in the country! Im sure the author hasn't been to too many leagues around the country. As someone who has seen/ been involved in footy in many places around the country I can assure you the league is far from the worst.

Yes the league has challenges but as I mentioned earlier it is a stable and well run competition. Many other leagues in our immediate area that are in far worse state than this one. Perhaps Bendigo and Loddon Valley come to mind with their current state!

The predicament maryborough and cadtlemaine find themselves in, is directly linked with the mcdfl. There's too many clubs and not enough players. To see a maryborough and cadtlemaine prosper in a major league, there needs to be less clubs and better relationships between the minor league clubs and 2 major leagues. If nothing happens, the same problems will remain in 5 years.

They could add newbridge into the league possibly too

I’m sorry Trent but that’s simply not correct.

The old two many teams is continually promoted as the key issue but in reality it’s a minor one in the scheme of things.

The truth is Maryborough and Castlemaine could have one team each and they would still not compete with the Bendigo clubs in the long term.

When you factor in population trends, demographics, socio economic factors such as employment level, living costs and higher education uptake as well as the communities financial base and then mix that with what we know about participation trends and retention rates per age group then the comparison just doesn’t stack up.
