100% but there’s gotta be a body that controls the sport, something that ensure some of that sports bet wedge filters down to the boys slogging it out in the yinnars and port fairy’s of the compJust give the game back to the volunteers.

I don't know but to my thinking with Melton South leaving and reducing the number of teams from 11 to 10 in the Ballarat FL this would be an ideal set up so why pursue Gisborne? Is it true Ballarat ask Gisborne to join them?
United would be broady by 150 +Looking at Murray FL and GVFL they both have 12 teams.
Not knowing anything about either league but I imagine the GVFL might not want a 13th team (Moama) so the option of joining the Bendigo FL with just the 8/9 teams could fit.
Looking at the 2024 ladder it seems Echuca United would not pursue a move to the Bendigo FL but there is precedence with Broadford....
I always enjoyed the bye round when I played. A lot of leagues like giving clubs a break.I don't know but to my thinking with Melton South leaving and reducing the number of teams from 11 to 10 in the Ballarat FL this would be an ideal set up so why pursue Gisborne?

Bendigo Pioneers u18 training squad
16 Sandhurst players. A notable number.
Don’t get me started on this crap. There is a ridiculous Sandhurst bias here. Some very good players missing out. This is not a talent program but a program for who can kiss ass the best. There is some bang average footballers on that list that will be no where near the level required.
Surely all this Sandhurst bias stuff is just Castlemaine whinging?

Sandhurst do have some very good players coming through at 16s level no doubt but not that many of them are so much better than other clubs. I watched a couple 16s games this year Strath had some very handy players, the top end of South was solid. The frustrating part is there would be at least 15 kids across u18s & 16s who deserve a go at least at the preseason training over some of the kids already invited. They have an amazing group of 16s coming up through, as yes aligned whilst targeted at 12s Or offered scholarships to schools to get them to Hurst.
Its a monopoly building empire your all slowly seeing it happen finally, but guess what its to late and nothing anyone can do about it. Even 2 teams in each age group for years being the strongest.

South seem to be recruiting extremely well and look to jump back up to the top of the ladder. Will be interesting to see if us Bendigo clubs will be chasing any of the young talent from Maryborough if they wish to stay in the Bendigo league. I heard Castlemaine are pushing pretty hard to get a few.
Why not? Others will, so they may as well get on the front foot.Surely not Castlemaine…they wouldn’t pick at the carcass of a fallen rival
Theres kids in other leagues playing against men in senior footy, I know currans in the squad but he got 2 bog in the central murray finals, he's miles ahead of guys who play under 16 footySandhurst do have some very good players coming through at 16s level no doubt but not that many of them are so much better than other clubs. But when it suits there is insinuation that 1 billion will be spent in grassroots footy in the next 10 years .

People keep saying the amount of assistance Broadford have been given is a disgrace.
What have they been given? Other than being allowed to join a league?
