Well grey areas and loopholes were used to get Broadford in surely they can find/use/make some grey areas & loopholes to get them out again
I’m not doubting that AFl Vic would use loopholes if needed to get them somewhere else but they also aren’t going to put them into the KDFNL and have KDFNL clubs re-consider other options , including the current make-up of the comp being non-affiliation .
AFL’s string hold on community football
is hanging by a thread and that thread in many cases it’s with a fragile relationship with leagues and clubs , KDFNL being one of those leagues .

The thing about Echuca is that they are a side made up of locals working in town. Part of their success has been the number of players that live and work in the town. This ensures that anyone that does go to Uni or works in Melbourne is keen to come back and play with their mates. Echuca will never return to the Bendigo League and if the Moama board had any sense then they would be looking at joining the GV. If they joined the Bendigo league then they haven't really left the Murray League to better the standard of footy.
Unless there is talk of another team close by to go with them. They make a lot of $ with the easter game against united, receive the grand final of the Murray league so it would be a stepback financially I would say. Also unsure but some BFL teams supporters may not be too keen to travel, loose some gate with no under 11/13 netball and under 14 footy.
Murray League - Games within 45 minutes - Deni, Tongala, United, Nathalia
GV - close game - Echuca, Rochester, Kyabram

Don’t believe they get anymore , directly , than any other club for the grand final $$$ wise . Catering is shared

I think Moama are looking 5 10 years ahead, and where they want to travel too, where they'll retain players and easiest to recruit players. If it's a success, kyabram and echuca will follow

Kyabram and Echuca won’t leave the GV old mate.
The gv is also on decline. It's harder for the other clubs to recruit in the gv. It may sound far fetched but I'd think most echuca and ky kids go towards bendigo geelong Melbourne for work and school. They'd drive through Bendigo way to come back.and play. Sandhurst and gisborne are both 5 goal better sides than shepp and have strong reserves and thirds. Is playing those clubs more appealing? I think if Moama move and it's a success both will follow

I think the BFNL would have to pay a king's ransom to get Echuca back.
Things such as playing some finals outside of Bendigo every year for a start.
That's what started in all back at the start of the 1970s.
Dunno if HQ could bear to allow that to happen.
It would open up to other clubs getting finals with the grand final on the qeo I'd think

Clubs whose juniors are aligned with pioneers for talent programs will naturally be linked to Bendigo ..
I may be wrong but I’d think Kyabram is not as aligned to Bendigo and Ballarat as Echuca/ Moama and Rochy are ?
Ky is linked to pioneers, they were bushies but that changed a few years back. Recently Ky locals of Jephson and Barnett were in the pinoeer squads and possible more.

Quite a large catchment area the pioneers (Mildura, Deni etc), unsure of future of TAC but with Echuca/Moama growing possible another under 18 team coming from Echuca along the Murray to Mildura

On that note there was 120 players invited to attend pioneers pre season training

I would hate to see another Coates League team formed. IMO that competition is in decline. It's time for AFL clubs to have their own U/19 Academies.

Shepparton would have beaten sandhurst this year without a doubt

I watched both a bit this year and agree. Sandhurst certainly had some very good top end talent but Shepp's bottom 10 players are a mile in front of Sandhurst bottom ten and I think that is the difference generally across the board when comparing these 2 leagues.

No chance, Greene and tardrew are elite players, Greene was the best player in country footy this year and he can go through the middle if required
True, those 2 are phenomenal players. However, Sandhurst’s depth was nowhere near as good this year.
Luke smith is right up there with the better players in country vic. If Greene did go into the midfield I don’t know who would kick their goals because other than him the rest didn’t set the world on fire.
Holland would have caused huge problems. Did sandhurst even have a proper ruckman?
