Oh right. I misread and thought you said top 25.

Mind you, who do you think he should displace from the top 5?

Should definitely be above Rankine though, at the very least.
Green looks good at his best but his biggest achievement to date is a rising star nom.
You can throw a blanket on Daicos Butters Serong Gulden all dual AA already + Warner in 5th

Fremantle, West Coast, Gold Coast, etc.

In sheezels defence he’s played 2 afl seasons

1: in his debut season he got more possessions than any other first year player in history

2: in his second season he made the all Aust squad, ranked in the top 10 players in the comp, broke the record for youngest 20 contested possession games, highest % of score involvements etc.

If played for any other club he’d be an all Aust already
I agree. Hes a gun and the fact hes only played 2 afl seasons isnt his fault. But the guys I have above him are guns too and have accomplished more. Had to find some way to separate them.

No slight at all on Sheezel. He will no doubt work his way close to the top of that list.

Andrew Brayshaw?

Not mentioned.

But Wardlaw is?

Serong 7th but his wingman in Brayshaw not in the top 25?

Just another silly click bait list.
No they picked a weird criteria where Rozee born 2000 is ineligible and brayshaw is a month older
I like 22u22 criteria where age cut offs are the day after the grandfinal

Butters is ineligible for more of the season then not with this criteria

Gulden, Warner, Ashcroft, Sheezel, Walsh, Butters all big chances to have better years in 2025 than Daicos.

Darcy more talented but may not be ready to explode just yet given his size/need to put on muscle. Should be comfortably the best KPF and possibly best player in the game if he continues on current his current trajectory.

For me Daicos was more damaging as a half back, 2024 allowed him to garner more individual accolades because his team was falling down around him but I wasn't as convinced as a genuine on baller. Reverted to hack kicking a lot under pressure.

Agree on Darcy, scary prospect

Lol Walsh. Could barely scrape a coaches vote during Carlton's prolonged collapse. He's been a good but not great midfielder the past 3 years.

Butters for H&A maybe but he's been a finals flop.

The ability to read abandoned you?
Stay on topic. My post was where they relate to the players YOU mentioned.

My point about Butters in finals stands. Completely fizzled out just like 2023.

Walsh was a key architect in Carlton's 2024 season turning into a laughing stock. Vanilla and ineffective during that big bad losing streak. Holmes picked up more coaches votes, mostly from a back flank!

Warner had a handful of poor quarters in the 2024 finals series as well.

Daicos, Gulden, Ashcroft and Sheezel are the standout 4 for output and consistency relative to age/experience.

Stay on topic? Ur bringing up 45 year old Dangerfield in an under 25s thread lmao.

Walsh had more coaches votes than Holmes from fewer games, coming off back surgery and has barely had a pre season in 3 years now. All this while competing with the 2024 Brownlow Medallist who had almost double the coaches votes any Geelong player received through the season. Even accounting for his poor run of form in the second half of the year he still finished ahead of Holmes.

Butters has fizzled out in finals a bit yes, he's still a far better player than Holmes during the regular season and a better player full stop.

Both are currently better, and likely will always be better players than Holmes. Probably why he spends most of his time at half back despite Geelongs extremely weak midfield.

Um, I stayed on topic each post as I only brought up Geelong players when you (off topic) brought that club into it.

Check again though: Holmes had more coaches votes than Walsh and picked up coaches votes in more games. His BOG QF performance put him ahead while Walsh plodded around like a VFL player in the EF.

Holmes actually had a coaches votes tally that fell right between Walsh and Butters despite playing mostly wing and half back, while being 2 years younger.

Standing up when it counts matters. Walsh did that in 2023 but not 2024. Butters never has and is therefore a big culprit for Kenny's recent finals flops.

P.S Holmes had games in the best couple of players on the ground as a wingman, midfielder and back flanker in 2024. A true utility.

Add a laugh reaction if you accept this and are declaring yourself a corrected moron.

Edit: wow, it worked. Poor ol' simple Walshy.

The coaches votes for finals go towards the Gary Ayers Medal (An award Walsh has won mind you). They do not go towards the AFLCA award which is what's being discussed...

If you can't discuss Holmes being an inferior player to Walsh and Butters historically and present then perhaps find something else to discuss. We don't need your melts derailing another thread.
