Fair enough, should fact check before posting. So you think Carlton have the best FF and CHF in the AFL?
Hard to say.

Curnow would definitely be in the conversation for best FF.

McKay as second fiddle hasn't got the same stats as when he was the solo gun. Who knows how someone like Max King would go being second fiddle.

At the end of the day, being the solo target will get you better stats.

The best CHF in the league is Cameron though right? I am genuinely not sure. I am not overly impressed by any CHF right now, certainly in comparison with previous recent legendary CHFs from Buddy on down.
Peak Jeremy Cameron is probably the best player in the league. Slightly less good at marking than Curnow, but he gets midfielder numbers and can play eveyrwhere.

Dont need to be modest on Charlie, clearly the best FF and it's not close. I'd have him basically the best player in the AFL to be honest.

Harry isn’t the best CHF in the game. But the talk of Carlton not needing him or being better without him is fanciful.

I’ve said for months now I think he was having his best season at AFL level prior to going down with injury. Yes that includes the year he won the Coleman. And yes that is despite the goal kicking yips he was going through at the time.

Cameron/Bont are my picks, with guys like Curnow and Greene in the next category down. Still guns though obviously.

I dont think I've said they are better without him just that he'd be better player elsewhere coz he's best in the number 1 banana role. Talking about best young FFs, McKay would get ranked higher and perform better at a different club. Only so much room in the F50

Where do we rate these players

Todd Marshall
Aaron Naughton

If the question is who is the best, it’s Harry McKay. He’s kicked the second most goals of any forward under 25 and has also won a Coleman.

If the question is who will be, it’s probably Jamarra but if I had to take my bias away, I think it could be (injury permitting) Max King

Larkey and Lewis has achieved the most so far. For potential, it's JUH and Allen. King brothers are good, but a bit of a tease. We'll see if they ever live fully up to their potential.

One of the difficult elements to assessing young key forwards is the way we determine when they should breakout and become AA standard. Naughton, King x 2, JUH etc etc are going through periods when expectations have been that they start to absolutely dominate. The trajectory of them all is still very high, even if none have been AA/Coleman types just yet.

Since the start of last year:
Ben King has kicked 87 goals in 42 matches.
Max King has kicked 77 goals in 32 matches.
Mitch Lewis has kicked 73 goals in 30 matches.
Naughton has kicked 92 goals in 44 matches.

JUH has clearly looked terrific this year. I suspect he'll be fine with his accuracy in the long run.

Amiss most goals on debut season since Hogan I think. Has to be a favourite for rising star?
Well, it is his second season. Even when he is still younger then Hogan was on debut. Strange how this minidraft panned out.

PS Did not remember Hogan missed his first season he was allowed to play with an injury. So that age thing is not that strange after all.

Everyone knows that the true test of greatness is how a key forward performs in a dead rubber against a bottom 4 team in Tasmania in round 24...
Norfh fans have gotta have something to celebrate mate

But hes done it all year in a team that has won 3 games - so your point is moot.
Don't agree, individuals Vs team success.

Todd Marshall is one of the highest winning percentage players currently playing. Does that push him up this list?
