Basketball cards were massive early 90s here in Adelaide.

Few good card shops.

Was actually a really exciting little period collecting stuff then within a couple months it was over

My first ever 'job' was working in the Rose and Ninnis card shop on Jetty Rd glenelg.

I think it was open for maybe a year. MAYBE.

Licensing cost a bomb.

He's one of the great shit campaigners of all time, I found it hugely pathetic how he paid no attention to Longley in the Last Dance and then as soon as he found out Luc had a doco he dropped everything to simp over him. a horrible self serving, manipulative campaigner. but I guess he won a lot of people a lot of titles and a lot of money.

Yeah, he dropped everything just because Longley's Australian Story might make him look bad. I was disappointed at the lack of Longley for the last dance, but, they had plenty to fill up the episodes anyway, it would have cost a lot more to get him than, say Bill Wennington and 99% of non-Australians couldn't have cared less if Longley appeared or not.

He's done precisely nothing to mend any bridges with Scottie Pippen regarding the latter's anger at the occasionally negative portrayal of him in the series, a much more explosive and potentially damaging relationship to navigate (and juicier, considering Pippen's ex was with Jordan's son for a few years). He doesn't give a toss at how many potshots Isiah Thomas throws at him. He doesn't care about rebuilding his friendship with Charles Barkley. Why Longley?

I'm far from a Jordan apologist, but all signs point to him genuinely doing some reflection and feeling bad about the omission of Longley and doing something to rectify it, at least from where I sat.

They also had to cut a few corners at the end as they wanted to get the Last Dance out during the height of covid when basically the whole world was in lockdown. So i imagine it would've been alot easier to get a soundbite from Bill Wennington or Will Purdue then trying to organise a film crew in WA to interview Luc.

And as you said Jordan clearly acknowledged it was poor to not have Longley feature in any meaningful way so gave up his time for the ABC doco, which if you look at how few interviews Jordan has done since retirement is a huge get.

I was honestly gobsmacked that he appeared and probably went to a bit of effort to do so.

Credit where it's due: I think Jordan's a bit of a campaigner generally (despite marvelling at his talents), but that seemed like a genuine gesture to me.

Bought a sealed box of 93/94 Skybox Premium off eBay for around $100 during covid. Probably should get all the inserts graded, seems to be the way it's all going now.

I've currently got a sealed box of every release from the 1992/ 93 season (Shaq's rookie year). 17 boxes in total I think.

Also have a box 1989-90 Hoops (The Admirals rookie year), 1990-91 Fleer and 1991-92 Fleer. When these were released, they were unsealed, no plastic wrapping on the outside of the box. These three I have are wrapped by BBCE and are verified as being from a sealed case.

MJ is a borderline sociopath. He even admits that. That driven to be great he burns anyone that gets in his way. Thats why hes the greatest athlete ever. Played 82 games with a ****ed knee as a 41yo. LeBron fanboys thinking hes in the same stratosphere shit me. Anyway back to rumours not cold hard facts..

I'm not a fan of the Lakers at all personally, something really irks me about them. I much prefer the consistent team-first style of play from the likes of Boston tbh

Nice, I was collecting hard as a young lad from around 93 to 94. I think the Topps Beam Teams cards were the most valuable from that season?

Another story as old as time is young blokes who think they are invincible go out and get destroyed regularly on booze and gear.
They then feel like absolute shite in the following days (come down) and hate the world.
Rinse/repeat.

More often it’s the lifestyle leading to the “depression” not the depression leading to the lifestyle.
Coming down isn't depression.
