This is the ironic thing that I am lectured moral messages by certain individuals and they are the biggest hypocrites in their personal lives.
It shits me no end.
Yes I feel the same way. Odds are with such a large and varied group of blokes that come from all manner of backgrounds that no one is going to be perfect. That's just life. It's the hypocracy I laugh at.
I used to go to College with James Cook that played for Carlton, Bulldogs and Melbourne.
At the time (in Year 11/12) he was playing footy for a TFL club, used to laugh about Brad Plain who was by then at Essendon (I think) being part of the Quit campaign (an initiative to encourage young people away from smoking) that was printed each week in the TFL matchday program.
Reckoned Plain smoked a pack a day when he was at North Hobart.
Mark Yeates that played for Geelong used to smoke a fair bit too, he was my neighbour when he captain/coached North Hobart in 1991/92.
He was a really great guy, his wife was a very strange woman though as I recall.
Several years later, in that same house a guy that played for the Aboriginal All-Stars against Collingwood moved in, he often went back up to visit the "brothers" up in the NT.
He told me most of the young didgie blokes he played with loved a bit of a choof.
Reckoned Daryl White was one of the biggest choofers and did when he played for Brisbane.
No wonder he was always so calm!!

The choof comment surrounding the indigenous boys has been around for 30 years. It's suggested as a good calmer for home sickness

From an ex Sydney player to myself I was told Adam Goodes was a major lover of the disco biscuits back in the day.

Micky O pulled me through an open window in a cab as I was simply walking home past Moore Park and crossing a street coming home from a nightclub in my uni days at around 5am, Goodes and Hall were in the back seat.

Micky was sucking on a lollypop and doing plenty.

When I said “Hi Mick” as he tried to drag me through the window they shit themselves and Hall told him to let me go.

Probably didn’t think anyone would recognize them on a random side street at 5am in the middle of Sydney in the early 00’s.

Really? Better than the NBA #1 pick?

Honestly, I have doubts that Petracca is even the better footballer.

I could believe it, especially if Petracca was an early developer. I remember Simmons getting around for Bulleen in the semi-pro state league in his mid teens and he was still pretty raw, even though it was no secret he was a probable future NBA player.

He'd play 20-25 minutes and dunk everything (pretty impressive in itself against guys in their 20s and 30s at that level), but wasn't showing too much else in his game. He was miles ahead of everyone athletically, but I never would have thought 'future NBA point guard' from what I saw.

He used to come into work when he did radio here in Adelaide and did tv and radio ads for work, came across as a self entitled ****** who wanted everything for nothing and wanted everything done for him immediately

edit : cant believe wan$ker is blocked on here

I have a different opinion on Brayshaw.

My dad is an electrician and had to do some repairs to JB's washing machine at his old property in Balhannah in the Adelaide Hills. Dad said JB stood at the laundry door and talked shit with him for a good hour. He even showed dad his home studio where he was doing Outside Broadcasts from when he initially moved to Melbourne radio.

Maybe he's just moody.

Sounds like not much has changed then

Dermie stayed for afternoon tea at Tottie Goldsmiths abode back in the Early 90's!

Pretty sure he headed down to the Portsea Pub after the Iron Man and told Trevor Hendy and myself all about the manoeuvres!
I mean her scone recipe.
Half a cup of lemonade.......mmmmm

Call me naive, but I don't know what you're implying by that last sentence. Or at least I hope it doesn't mean what I'm thinking.

The early 90's was when Tottie was hosting the series on Sex, wasn't it? Can't remember any references to lemonade, though.

Sounds like a golden shower reference

The police have visited the Brereton household several times recently. Domestic disturbances between the two blokes living there.

I thought this referred to Dermott and one of his kids. Parents and kids sometimes clash....
