On the subject of players being terrorised on camps, Garry Lyon said that in a certain camp with John Northey they were told to run up a hill in the country. Halfway up a couple of farmers jumped out of the bushes screaming to get off their property and firing bullets over the players heads.
The players sprinted back down the hill and found that Northey had planned it to scare the s**t out of the players.

players weren't as soft back then though

Yeah man being hard and tough certainly helped the Dees back then. Well known being shot at and being a hard as alpha male who can carry a bag of rocks through the desert in Australian summer is what makes a footy player great, not having a 'soft ****'

I guess sarcasm is lost on you

Worked with a security guard who worked at the Espy over the summer when it opened. He was a footy tragic so knew all the names and faces and said one night he had to help Gil's wife out of the VIP room after she had had too much of the powders and conked out. Plenty of other big wigs were putting a lot of the stuff away, which isn't too surprising. He was made to promise to "forget what he saw" from the AFL top brass.

There are photos doing the rounds of Tex Walker kind of, “spanking” the bare bottoms of two younger Crows players with what can only be described as a large purple sex toy. I’m sure a few people have seen it but the point is that one of the players made a complaint about the photo being taken and or distributed, didn’t see the “funny” side of it and hasn’t played a game since, whilst the other player in the photo who didn’t complain who came through the same draft has played at least half a dozen games on and off this year. Needless to say that Adelaide has a different way of “hazing” new recruits.

Tom Rockliff likes this.

Elliot Yeo does not.

the beef between Neale and Kersten last year happened during a friendly game of basketball that end ed up not so friendly.
that wasn't the reason Neale left Freo though, Neale did not like the way Ross spoke to some younger players after a loss last year and placed some blame on them. Neale stood up for the youngsters and disagreed with Ross.

💯 Round 16 last year Freo lost to the Dees by 54pts and Ross put a lot of the blame on Sheridan. Neale stood up for him and copped a barrage of abuse. After that he was out the door and exploring other options.

Have you seen the pics? Surely they would have done the rounds by now

For their own amusement I'd imagine, he spun a lot of stories on our tour though so it was hard to know what was bullsh*t and what wasn't.

He told us about a town in Northern Ireland where the kids threw rocks at the bus when they drove though it as the Paddywagon bus was seen as a symbol of Ireland. We thought that was bullsh*t until we drove through that town and the kids actually threw rocks at the bus.

Organised his mates to piff rocks at the bus for a lark?

Heard an interesting rumour last night from some one who works for one of the Melbourne stadiums and has a lot of security contacts across other grounds in other states.

Apparently in a game earlier this year one of Scott brothers left the coaches box at quarter time and there was a spectator very close to the door and facing away from it.

Scott kicked this bloke square in the back to get him out of the way and knocked him over, it happened very quickly and only the immediate security guards saw it. AFL ‘allegedly’ paid the guy not to take further action.

No they were genuine schoolkids, was around school closing time and they were walking home.

Not sure why they kept driving through that town when the kids there threw rocks at the bus, maybe they considered it one of the attractions.

My money is on it being Brad, seems to be the more hotheaded of the two.

If it was him I wonder if that played a part in him standing down as North's coach.
