Games ive been to live:
Round 11 2006. Down by 44 points against Carlton in 3rd quarter - thought it would be impossible to have another miraculous comeback 2 weeks in a row. Somehow did it. When Embley put us in front with about 1 min remaining Subi oval erupted. Loudest atmoshere at a footy game ive known.

Games i watched on tele: obviously the 2006 GF. Went close to having a nervous breakdown in the last 5 mins of the match when we were trying to hold on to that 1 point lead with Sydney constantly kicking the ball inside their forward 50. Losing 2 GF's in a row by less than a goal would have made me suicidal but we hung on and i hugged/kissed/sexually assaulted 1000+ random people at the Leedie Hotel. Good times.

2000 QF Essendon 31.12.198 v North Melbourne 11.7.73

Total dominance by the Bombers, I wish they had won by more (seemed to have slowed down in the last five minutes), and Lloyd got his ton.

Personally, I enjoy games where my team completely and utterly demolishes the opposition in a dominant display of great footy. I get far too stressed out in close games to enjoy it.

Essendon vs North Melbourne, 1999 - a meeting of two great teams, one coming towards the end of their reign, the other on the rise. It absolutely had it all - incredibly fast, great skills, fights breaking out left, right and centre, very high scoring, and unobtrusive umpiring (funny, everything that modern football isn't). Hardly two minutes went by without something amazing happening. Carey booted 10, Lloyd 7. From memery Essendon ran out winners by about four goals, and I'm pretty sure both teams kicked 20+.

Also the first time (as an opposition supporter) that I got a true indication of the logic-defying things that Wayne Carey was capable of on a football field. His efforts as North's sole target were staggering. At every marking contest he had two All-Australian backmen in Fletcher and Wellman doing their utmost (legally and illegally) to spoil him, plus Barnard and Solomon coming over the top, doing their best to decapitate him. The umpires let it all go, and he still marked everything in sight. I was sitting right behind him when he kicked an inside-out, backward, checkside banana on his left foot from the boundary, with three players bearing down on him, only for it to sail straight through the middle.

Quite a few fireworks at the start, Essendon's tactics were obviously to try to unsettle him with some behind-the-play action. The effect could not been more opposite from what was intended.

That H&A game in 1999 was the best I've seen too. The fast we lost was irrelevant - it was two powerful asnd skilled teams giving it their all, with two of the game's best forwards at their absolute best at either end. Comebacks are great and high scores are fun, but for the quality of the game from both sides, through four quarters, that was far and away the best I've ever seen.

R22 1998 North v Dogs was another high class game - and one of the few classic games North has been involved in that we won - and the 1994 prelimninary final v Geelong was one for the ages.

Of the games that I have been to the best are:-

1. 1995 Anzac game COLL V ESS. 92,000 people, Rocca kicking 8 and it ended in a draw. Unbelievable atmosphere.

2. 1990 QF COLL V WC. Another draw, and Daicos kicking a goal in one of my all-time favourite pieces of play.

From games that I watched on TV:-

1. 89 GF. Not too much to add to what's already been said here.

2. 1990 GF (for obvious reasons!!)

3. Ablett(14) V Salmon(10) goal-a-thon in 93 GEEL, V ESS.

(gee they were good times from 89-95!!)

Mine for sure not just because im an Essendon Supporter but would have to Essendon v Kangaroos in 2001 when we came back from 69 points down mid way through the 2nd quarter. awesome game.
52 goals kicked all time record

Yes that was a great great game best game i think i have seen by essendon. A reason I love sheedy so much.

2000 Grand final - We win Premiership

Worst Games Ever

1996 - Prelim Final against sydney - Tony should have kicked a goal but kicked a point which was infact a dagger into the heart of every Essendon supporter.

1999 - Prelim Final against Carlton - Another loss by point heartbreak again. Cried for weeks

2000 - Bulldogs Essendon - Great game but we lost not by much but more than a point. As long as we won the grandfinal I could cope with this loss.
