Yeh MDMA is a weird one. While you're on it it's the best high you'll have, I don't even mind the come down these days, but it's the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday following it that almost make it not worth it. It's a seasonal thing, but the absolute apathy and bleakness that comes out is otherworldly. Like you're in a Series of Unfortunate Events or something.

Couldn't imagine doing a bikkie while already intoxicated though.
How does the midweek comedown really work?

Anyone know any European bars for a good bratwurst or something? Just came from a Canberra trip, and digging the chavvy Brit/Scot/German scenes as of late

perth? is that on king street?

yeah... its an ex-pat SandGroper pub... TV shows West Coast, Freo, WAFL, NBL Wildcats, Perth Glory and horse racing from Belmont Park.
got Emu Export and Swan Draught on tap
the pub runs on WA time, so its open an extra 2 or 3 hours after most of the other pubs have closed, so it tends to get busy in the later hours with a lot of punters who still want to kick on

i watched the 2015 GF there... Rove McManus and Karl Langdon dropped by after the game

Serotonin drops post-eccie. It's a bit of a psychological ****around as well, as you go from having a really clear mind back into the usual patterns of thinking without the aid of some of those chemicals that make you feel good.

It's probably a bit associative too. While you're on it you're usually out with mates, striking up convos with randoms, feeling on top of the world and then by Wednesday you're back at your desk job/at uni/bored and listless at home and coming to terms with how out of reality you were.

I feel like I sometimes get that by just drinking a lot.
More midweek feelings than a next day hangover.

People have always spoken about the mid-week comedown and New Order told me about Blue Monday, but for me it was a combined comedown/mid-week dullness all crammed into about two days. Usually started by the time I was nearly home from a 10am tram ride and then I'd be emotionally and physically cactus for another 30ish hours. After that I was pretty much right.

Drinking makes me feel like total shit the next day, hangover aside. The feelings of shame and guilt are so heavy. Quite often I'll have spent only $80 and only stayed out until 2 or so, spoken to no one except my friends, and kept the topics to footy and chicks, and even then I'll end up feeling like I've done something terrible.

I don't get how some people have never gotten this, not even once, but maybe it's about being in tune with your emotions or something. Lots of people get one bad thought and think they're ****ing depressed these days so who knows.

Then again I've had amazing nights just drinking beers. You meet people, you feel connected, you feel like you're living youth the way it should be, you make mates, you have a laugh, everything just goes well... I met a band and hung out with them the other month and had a similar experience: the next few days just seem so dull and boring, you have nothing left in the good vieebzzz chapter of your brain and instead just think about how grey and pedestrian every day of your life is.

Yeah, dude, this happens to me with a reasonable frequency. The feeling of overwhelming guilt while you rack your brain to think if there's anything to really justify why you feel that way. I always end up having to convince myself that it's purely a reaction to the alcohol and that I have no reason to feel like this.

I think that is probably worse than a comedown (although it probably qualifies as a comedown of its own).

I think I only really get it when I get a little bit too drunk. It sucks bad, so I think I've learnt my lesson not to do it again.

I feel id definitely get it on pills as I'd be out of it

I've considered looking into getting it but I've always been to lazy to bother going through with it.

Do you just get it at a pharmacy?

I know bodybuilding supplement websites you can buy them. Don't know about a chemist though to be honest.

doesn't taking drugs to assuage a hangover caused by drugs seem kinda stupid?

i'm mean i've smoked pot after a huge night to wind down, but that's not really the same.

Do you take Panadol when you are hungover and have a headache?

I don't. Seems pointless and the more you use it the less its effects are.

Pretty sure katana just wanted to tell everyone about how he smokes pot. Probably vapes too.
I broke a nearly thirty year cigarette habit by vaping, it's more effective than anything else I've ever tried.

He meant that weed smokers or vapours are like vegans. They let you know at every possible chance they do it
I would say it's more the teenage "smoke weed errrrryday" types where you get that from.

The seasoned veterans (including yours truly) don't tend to harp on about it as much.
