Can easily see how someone would struggle.

A 45 or 55 years old parent living in a nondescript suburb. Haven't touched anything wilder than alcohol since they were about 30. Their old housemate's friend or old friend's housemate they half-knew in 1992 is but a memory. Probably don't have twentysomethings in their social circle. Unlikely to outright ask their nephew or youngest co-worker where to get some.

They could find some eventually if they really wanted but it wouldn't be simple.
oh cmon, it's literally sold on craigslist and the 'dark web'.

Welcome to the club, we have 'sitting on the couches sad and alone because they're playing shit music' on level one, on level two we have bogans taking over formally good venues on level three. If you just want to sit down and relax and have a pint, that's on here, the first floor... but the beers are $13 a pint and someone may try and fight you – if you can find a seat.

Don't think i ever mentioned anything about its quality, but whatever
I'm just being a snarky campaigner and taking the piss. I think everyone generally goes to shit nightclubs.

Is that the place that used to be Cheers? I always thought that was such a cool little alcove/alleyway and was missing out on heaps of potential. People from the east like going to Hawthorn and erroneously saying it as 'Glenferrie,' but they really could put a few cool things down there. It sort of reminds me of Brick Lane or somewhere. Didn't they say it was a 24/7 venue but when you go to the Facebook page, everyone is giving it 0 star ratings because the nightclub part wouldn't let people in past midnight and the kitchen closes at weird times. Sounds like it's got a free-for-all licence somehow but they never actually know how to use it.

Yes it is.
They made a pizza bar type thing with it now called Holy Moly, $5 pizzas and $15 jugs

I get it wants to be like Bimbo/Lucky Coq and it's a good idea because there are students around and in that area, there isn't somewhere for people to go on a Wednesday, and you can basically ship bad beer and sell it that cheaply because people don't know or care. But it seems they're bad at running a businesses and are trying to do too many things; as I said the reviews are bad.

Laugh all you want but I have reported your comments to Chief, and the Victorian Police Force, which I am a member of, for drug innuendo.
Sounds like you need a go on the bucket we have set up in our sharehouse laundry; it'll chill you out bra.

I know you're not a fan of weed, my dude. Some people just like getting high, though. Personally, I hate the dole-bludging stoner culture, but I do smoke a j 4-5 nights a week. Thing is, I enjoy being high - much more than I like having a few drinks and being tipsy/binging and getting drunk.

Only after I've got my shit together (study, chores done) for the day do I burn one down. I have terrible anxiety, and I totally feel more relaxed when I'm under the influence. The best thing for me is that it helps me sleep - which being an excessive worrier, I've always struggled to get healthy amounts of.

One of my best mates at law school smokes 6-7 cones a day, yet manages to get straight HD's. I've never touched any other drugs (bar nangs & daffodils) - and as long as one's weed use is in moderation/doesn't take time away from getting important shit done, it's not a problem for mine.
It's interesting how some people don't get into alcohol. Whether it's a few after work or that first pint with your mates on a night out, I just love it. I like the idea of the night just starting and for me, smoking is the sign of the night going nowhere.

I got really high the other week and although I didn't have a panic attack, it wasn't great. I had a real laugh but there was a period where I couldn't recognise my friend and the house in North Perth I was in was unfamiliar, and it made me feel like I was kidnapped. It was an awful feeling. Ended up sleeping until midday the next day and just feeling shit about myself. Marijuana is okay but I would never say it's cool or fun or anything to glorify – it has so many side effects of confusion, anxiety, and things people brush off but if they actually considered it would realise it's probably not worth it.

Also heaps of massive pot smokers I know go through periods where they pretend they're getting panic attacks from it/hate it and then a month later are smoking multiple doobs a night.

Whatever it's just one of those things – que sera sera, do what you want.

Sometimes I wonder if people would rather this forum be 'yes I hate that but yes you love it fantastic!' which totally defeats the point of a forum for me.

Drugs and alcohol are both shit imo. Australia has such a culture of alcohol and so many people don't know how to have fun without it. Live life out of reality. Yeah it might seem fun at the time but so many stupid decisions are made while your out of it. We all do it i suppose but im glad im out of that stage.

The thing is that most people are fine with that. It's just when you come and say oh i don't like it therefore if you do you must be some kind of loser.

I'm pretty sure Rats still gets a large crowd. The music suits a lot of people I guess.
Baffles me how.

They play the most cringeworthy music of the early 2000s on repeat every week with the dance floor basically turning into a high school formal type singalong. I can cope with the odd bit of shit music but when the entire night consists of that combined with blokes who can't handle their vodka raspberries stumbling and spilling drinks on you it can get ****ed.

Anyway is still alright, I've always liked the venue and they play some decent music. Unfortunately they're moving on from that venue in a fortnight or so, will be interesting to see if anything else takes over The Bottom End. Would be a shame if it just sits there unused.

Reality is either boring or sucks.
