No he will need a good amount of time in the vfl getting his confidence and conditioning back. Hopefully plays games in second half of year, reckon he can play.
agree but don't think he needs that long in the vfl

could see goater come back into the senior team after a solid month of vfl

We will, getting a pressure tall like darling allows us to keep rolling with that setup
Teakle will start but expect Finnbar and cj to eventually challenge him for that spot

CJ... lol. Dead and buried that bloke. Won't play another game of AFL unless there is an absolute train wreck of injuries and he does a Bradbury. Bookmark it!

FB - Archer, Logue, Corr ( Hardeman)
HB - Daniel, Comben, Powell*
C - Mckercher ,Parker, Scott
HF -Zurhaar Darling Sheezel
FF - Curtis ,Larkey, Duursma (Konstanty)
R - Xerri, LDU, Wardlaw

IC from: Simpkin, Stephens, Teakle, Ford, Phillips, Tucker
SUB- Goater/Tucker/Stephenson/Fisher

Powell off HB can also alternate in the Mid/and or wing

No room for LMac ( I know he's serious out there, just looks as though its all sh!ts and giggles to him) make an example have a month in the VFL and see were he sits.

No room for Stephenson - Last chance - Extract the digit also a month or so in VFL other wise Gone!

1 Captain - either Simpkin or Larkey
VC- Sheezel/Xerri/LDU
DVC - Scott/Powell

Bolded are players who I think are locks in their position. Out of the starting 18, only Scott I think is no guarantee to be best 22 round 1.

On the bench, Wardlaw is a lock best 22 and may well start on the ground.

The reason why Logue, Corr and Comben aren’t bolded is that they’ve basically played **** all footy together and it remains to be seen how they work together as unit. Compared to other sides it’s a pretty tall combination without a lot of rebound.

Still a ton of ?’s on what our best combination/set-up is imo. And it won’t get any easier in the early rounds with Duursma, maybe Goater, maybe pick 2 etc. as options.

Top of the priority list for the coaches is to get some certainty around roles and structures over the first half the season I reckon.

Good side. I don’t think Parker is a lock to play centre. I think he’ll play at the very most 50% midfield, more so when opposition get a run on of goals

That’s fair enough - I based that lock on the coaches wanting to add a senior player in each third of the ground, but I could be wrong. I personally wouldn’t be bothered if he was more 50/50.

Konstanty a key in and doesn't get a look-in at the 23. Top-notch journalism there.

That forward line will leak rebounds like a sieve and put undue pressure on Curtis to be the rover for the fourth year in a row, especially with the two mediums on the bench. Any way we can rig up a Frankenstein machine and morph Hansen and Konstanty into the one player?

Our number one key back on the pine was the real low point for me. The forward line, whilst too slow and too tall, needed to take a number and get in line to generate some outrage.

Don’t mind this side at all. Would like a little more nippyness in the forward line.

We all know the Syd Barker voting is flawed, but perhaps a sad indictment (or a sign we are to get serious) there is no room for the 9th (LMac), 11th (Tucker), 18th (Fisher) or 25th (Cat Stevens) place getters. 4 year contracts for the last 2 above is still mind boggling.

Far out if Logue, Corr and Comben can stay on the park that's our best key defence trio since we had Spud, Thommo and Narni running around.
Chom has to play forward IMO. He was half decent at CHB but we desperately need a 2nd Tall Forward with W Dawson developing in defence.. I may have it all wrong but Chom is a CHF! Especially if we don't want to draft (which it seems) a KF.

Darling should play as a 3rd Tall Forward and push up the ground to the wings and be an option on the lead 70m from goals.

"Half decent at CHB" - that's pretty tough marking mate.

Getting a dozen or more intercepts a game on three occasions didn't show enough promise to you?

I don't think Darling was brought in to play 3rd banana, in the forward line. He wanted to play at North because he wants to be a focal point.

It's for that reason I think we've settled with Chom playing back, until such time Will Dawson really comes on.

He (not alone obviously) cost us the WCE game, that was honestly enough. You might think it's tough, I think it's fair, like more than fair. His opponent kicked 5 in a half and he was playing for a side who previously battled to score, not some free wheeling masters.

Only way that side will happen if Clarkson rises above mate ship and takes away the players voting rights to name the Captain.
If this doesn’t happen and the players still get to vote McDonald will be named Captain and will start on the ground.
If Clarkson stands up he should name the Captain for 2025 on the 1st day of Pre Season Training as the longer he waits to name a Captain it could turn very bad quite quickly once the season starts.
As a club the supporters are sick of losing sick of the BS and sick of players getting named and staying on the list because their father played at the club.
But as supporters we should just put up with it stop complaining and watch our club play from March to August each year.
Just love to see some September action whether it’s a Elimination Final or a Preliminary Final as would all NMFc supporters.

I really like this team. If we take Draper out and replace him with Scott and then add McDonald to the bench and Ford as the sub and I reckon we have a round 1 team (subject to Goater’s fitness). Hopefully Parker is captain and Sheezel and X his deputies.
