It will be interesting to hear what comes out as I wouldn't have thought Pav would come out with that unless he had been told by Brayshaw or Neale that it didn't happen. Nisbett has form in this area but again giving him the benefit of the doubt, you would hope the WCE media dept would have given him correct info.

Either way this is all craziness.

Pavlich is in the media now and any journalist with a correction like that runs with it. Backs his sources, backs his reputation and backs his credibility by Tweeting "Brayshaw and Gaff didn't play golf together".

So either he is a very poor journalist or he sent out a cryptic Tweet that is also to back away from knowing the gullible will run with it as fact.

Ricky Nixon sends out cryptic Tweets, that's the company he is keeping.

If he had any integrity left he would run with the story.

You would think re golf that Nisbett would have received that information from Gaff, Hamish or somebody who had spoken to one or both of them.
Feel like the only person that may not have said anything would be Andrew Brayshaw given the surgery and jaw situation.

Hopefully Brayshaw makes a full recovery & Gaff is left alone by the media post tribunal & that the people close to him are looking out for his mental health. He knows what he's done and hopefully he can make it up to Brayshaw

It's a pretty big lie by one of them. If it's Nisbett then I would think his position becomes untenable given the circumstances.

If it's Pavlich then probably nothing would happen but he should be reprimanded for adding fuel to the fire or preferably, also relieved of his duties.

Hardly sackable. If either were told offhand then took it as fact then its unfortunate and posting a retraction would be warranted. However if pav is wrong then his integrity as an objective reporter needs to brought into question.
 
Surely Nisbett wouldn't actively lie about a detail like that. Surely.

If he got misinformed or misunderstood what was relayed to him, he needs to come out and clear that up. Preferably with a written statement, going back in front of the media will just lead to more loaded questions and more opportunities for him to say stuff that will generate bullshit headlines.

If the three of them did play golf and it's Pavlich who's got the wrong end of the stick, he needs to retract and apologise.

Didn't know they existed ChampRevesby that's why I haven't read a paper or listened to a news programme (unless you count Trevor Noah or John Oliver) for years. ;)

Someone has got this drastically wrong, just don't know who!

Either way, what an absolute sh*t show...

If Mark Brayshaw's the one who's got it wrong that's actually the best possible outcome. Just a misunderstanding, he clearly didn't mean any malice by it, let's all just move on.

Lachie Neale has retweeted Pav and James Brayshaw apparently just said 'they didn't play and they don't know each other'
