Has to be the second bowler picked behind the captain right. I don't care he's not in the squad, has to play.

Probably Boland (I'm assuming Hazelwood is unfit). Neser and Boland bring similar qualities, whereas Starc is a different beast.Who misses out
Starc ?
Play all of Neser, Cummins, Boland and Starc with Neser replacing Warner at the top of the order the way he's batting right now.Probably Boland (I'm assuming Hazelwood is unfit). Neser and Boland bring similar qualities, whereas Starc is a different beast.
What is Starc's record in England like? I might be conflating it with Mitchell Johnson's, but I have a feeling it's not flash. However I think he's the safe option for selectors.
If Hazlewood isn't right (didn't know he was hurt) then agree that Neser makes sense as a replacement.Probably Boland (I'm assuming Hazelwood is unfit). Neser and Boland bring similar qualities, whereas Starc is a different beast.

It's not an horrendous record to be fair.If Hazlewood isn't right (didn't know he was hurt) then agree that Neser makes sense as a replacement.
Starc doesn't offer much in England historically. Just below his career average.

I dunno I blame CA springing this new rule bullshit out of no whereBack to spud-dom for him then, like all Scorchers traitors.
GuttedLooks like Bancroft is about to sign with Sydney Thunder for three years.
Just like how the AFL rules bought WCE down.Gutted
Bancroft set to continue Big Bash career at Thunder
Former Scorchers opener set to be reunited with David Warner at the Sydney Thunder in BBL|13 with Perth's salary cap pressure forcing him to switch clubswww.cricket.com.au

AgreedCan’t see anyone beating the Thunder
Not sure they would have made the total.Did somebody say match fixing
Will the IPL come to be the dominant league in the dominant form of the game?
With India recently becoming the most populous nation on Earth, combined with the popularity of T20 cricket and the decline of Test cricket anyway in all but Australia, India and England, will the IPL become the equivalent of Premier League soccer?
It surely can't be long until the IPL decides it wants to run a 6 month season (or thereaboust), in concert with the BCCI who will only see the dollar signs, and before you know it players are being offered 5, 10, $20 million per season. And who would be silly enough to say No to that?
Test cricket will become a novelty that will either be played by second rate players, or as a once-in-a-while event just for old times' sake.
Keen to hear any counter-arguments.
Pietersen seems to think so.
Have always thought Cricket would end up like Football. Mainly domestic competitions with International windows for World Cups, Test series etc..
ODI and T20I series will be the next victim I think. They just seem soo pointless these days.
Ironically I think ODIs and T20Is could be saved if they became far less frequent and brought back multi-team series (like the old triangular VB series).ODIs outside of the WC have been un-engaging since the mid-90s or so. Very uncertain future for the format.
T20I basically only matter in WCs too. But they may actually become more meaningful over time, if T20 club cricket begins to dominate and the T20 WC becomes the pinnacle of the sport, like in soccer.
Test cricket is the big worry though.
Do people outside of India care much for the IPL though? Will the IPL come to be the dominant league in the dominant form of the game?

Always does. It’ll come down to money.
India has roughly 3x the population of the rest of the test playing nations put together. Take out Pakistan who rarely play international cricket at home and it’s 6x and 7x if you remove the increasingly marginalised Afghanistan
So whatever India decides to do with their money will dictate what happens to cricket
And as much as traditionalists prefer Test cricket we’re getting older and less relevant. That format also can’t compete with the money being offered by T20 so players from fringe test nations like the West Indies and/or fringe test selections like Mitch Marsh will take the millions on offer
To make matters worse the ICC has shown a complete lack of a spine when it comes to dealing with the BCCI and almost powerless to stop them doing whatever they want
