Might be an unpopular call this but on balance you'd have to say that, at this stage, England deserve to see this game out and win.
Thought they were quite inventive with their field placements while we've been much more reactive to their BazBall approach. Plus an aging Broad and medium pacer in Robinson managed to bowl spells with more aggressive intent than our pacers from what I've seen.
Long way to go obviously and I'd love a Warner hundred for a successful run chase in the 4th.
Think this series will continue to be an all timer either way this one goes. Good stuff.

South Africa in 2008 the only other team (other than home team England) to chase a higher total on this wicket, temper expectations.

I'd have given Head a go too during those periods where Lyon was looking much more dangerous than our quicks.
However the match ends up, the loser will face more than the usual criticism based on their controllable decisions.
If England lose: Stoke declared too early on day 1, not selecting a keeper that can actually keep
If Australia lose: far too defensive in the field in the first innings, not using the short ball enough in the second innings
I agree with you, if England win they will have fully deserved it, tip your hat to them.
I really hope Uzzie can survive the first 20 minutes and set himself for Head/Carey to bat around him. It has been a cracker of a test match, it deserves to go deep. It would be an awful shame if the rain ruins the finale.

You might be right about the criticism, although I think for the poms it'll be written off as 'well that's the way they play, it's exciting cricket, sometimes it doesn't pay off, gotta risk losing to chase the win, etc.'
The Aussies have fought tooth and nail to stay in the hunt all game. If they get pipped on the last day, I worry that they may struggle to get back into the series.

I disagree on your last point. We have so much scope for improvement with our bowling/fielding strategy, can bring in Starc or Neser, and some runs from the no. 1 and 2 ranked batsmen wouldn't go astray.
Yeah spot on, either one of Marnus or Smith being not out overnight (and going on with it tonight) would've been handy!
Both are class, it would be unlikely both will fail again at Lord's.
