"It's something we spoke about as a group," Robinson said. "We said once we get past Cummins, we feel like they've got three No. 11s. It's something that we can target through the series and try and wrap up their innings quite quick and try and give us that momentum into our batting innings."

Bazball. Haha. KP. Haha.
Sorry, but congratulations to England on how they attacked the game. Yes, they won the toss, yes they got the best batting conditions on day 1, yes they got the humid, overcast, swinging start to day 2, yes they got to bowl on a day 5 pitch with seamer suited conditions and an outfield where the ball just plugged if it had any air. But you play to the conditions and England took the game on.
Good on them and it could have gone either way.

Just as an aside. Apparently, in the last 100 years of Ashes tests, there have been only ten tests where the margin was <=3 wickets or <=25 runs. And England had won all of them.

Well done for breaking that hoodoo.

More remarkable Uzzie stats -

Khawaja, the first Australian to bat on all five days of an Ashes Test since Stan McCabe at The Oval in 1934, faced more balls across this series opener (518) than he had survived in all appearances on his previous two Ashes campaigns in the UK in 2013 and 2019.

Usman Khawaja (36) has left more balls than England (32) in this Test match #Ashes

All Hail King Uzzie! What a legend.
With 3 of our best batsmen (arguably worlds best) out cheaply two
innings in a row, where would we be without Uzzie standing tall?
Funny ol' game cricket. Bazball....Pfffft!

The English crowds will jump off Bazball in a hurry if they go 2 down at Lords. I’m backing in proper test cricket, with Smith and Labuschagne to build big innings - at 3.5 runs an over.

Lot of batting upside for Australia, with those two missing out across both digs. That doesn't happen often.

Very few things make your breakfast taste even better than when you are eating it as you are watching / reading / listening to the news after an Ashes Test in England and finding out that Australia wins.

Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves,

I do miss Poms night down at the Broadway Inn in my University days.
