We in a bit of strife in this test.

Im feeling like this could be an 8 wicket loss for us .

Agree, we haven't played at all well this game, have had some good moments but have also had some massive brain farts.

The second part of the English first innings well bowled appallingly badly, bleed runs and gave up 90 more runs that we should have held onto.
Then in our second innings batting, Smith and Labuschagne threw their wickets away with extravagant shot selections, if only one had not had a rush of blood then we may have another 60 runs min on the board. Had both kept a steady head, it may have been then a 120 runs extra.

So if we added another 150 runs minimum, on to our now slim lead, then it would have been well and truely be game on.

Poor execution and decision making, at critical times in the game, has seen us have our own shoot yourself in the foot " Pommy Moments", that unfortunately, left the gate open for the Soap Dodgers to take full advantage of and walk back into the game to gain the the upper hand ...... and they did.

Our bowlers totally lost the plot in the second half of the Poms first innings batting and its more so than anything else, going to cost us the test match.

Four main modes of dismissal at the fielding sides disposal:

Caught.
Bowled.
LBW.
Run Out / Stumped.

Our bowlers completely ignored the bowled and lbw options and as a consequence, failed to put pressure on the batters allowing them to control the tempo.
Our modus operandi was bowl short and wide of the stumps be that on or off side ........ eventually they skied the ball but only after the damage was done.

Brains trust of the Australian Team, need to have a good hard look at themselves and seriously alter their tactics.

the team really are playing

I just cant get past how mind numbingly stupid the team are at times. Given the resources available, the sheer number of coaching staff...how are so many people happy to sit out on the balcony with stupid grins on their faces when they should be doing something?

Losing 6/23 in the first inning was costly as well.

At least that was the result of some outstanding pace bowling to the tail by Wood in conditions tailor made for him
