He got confusedBut Snake Baker told me North were getting two big fish.
I'm not downcast, and I also think that top 6 would be achievable with Rocky. The mention of Carlton as a competitor to us is based on them getting Kelly. They played the last part of the season without Cripps and Ed Curnow which is a bit like our midfield losing Tom and Dan Howe. Those plus Kelly , Murphy and Gibbs and they a far better outfit. The rivals at about the same level as us include the Bombers, Saints, Dees,, Bulldogs, Port, Weagles, Tigers and Pies. Whilst our list has book end deficiencies we have the best coach and some promising youth with upside, along with experienced stars. Most depressing, down cast and cry-worthy post of the year. Are you serious? We have a lot better list than bottom 4 , trust me, the second half of the season was more substance than people give credit for.
If we do get Rocky, then look out, even top 6 isn't out of the question considering the competition isn't that strong.
Absolutely incredible list management by them. Kelly is now staying. Turned down massive coin. Good on him. Can't believe they have managed to keep Cameron, Patton, Shiel, Greene, Whitfield, coniglio and Kelly. That's 7 elite/A+ grade talent. If they learn to play as a team they will be unstoppable.GWS have done well to keep everyone if Kelly stays, especially as they look like the have to much of a soft underbelly to create a dynasty.

In 2 years time they will have a lot of FA the AFL will be handing out secret ambassadorial payments all over the placeAbsolutely incredible list management by them. Kelly is now staying. There really isn't any reason to post pone for two years when that sort of cash and long term contract is thrown at you.So kelly signed but lots of murmurs that he is out in 2 years and will join north then - would make sense, maybe north be in better shape.
Similar to the rumour last year that shiel would leave at the end of his 2 year extension (possibly to join hawks).
Im sensing a LOT of contracted players will move this offseason (at all clubs not just hawks)
Call me a cynic but it is in nothing but the AFLs best interests that GWS are successful. I wouldn't be surprised if the AFL find other ways to keep GWS best players at the club, il reserve my praise for now..Absolutely incredible list management by them. Kelly is now staying. We have surplus for now needs in the back line, we could use one or two as trade options to get a midfielder or two. Let's see what available.
Kelly ( clarko has been a huge advocate for two years to work out a way to get him but it doesn't seem like happening)
Kennedy ( very getteble)
Balic ( seems like a bit of baggage comes with him plus looks like a slow, meandering inside mid who has some really good attributes but not sure if we're even looking at him TBH)
Rockliff ( wants 4 years and at 27 is worth it imo, still within the window of opportunity age wise, hard worker and for a slow inside mid. He is a dangerous deep forward, as a FA and at 650k. I wouldn't be totally against it.)
Gaff ( this one has sprung up out of nowhere but can't believe he is only 25! Would be a good get)
So, in summation, we'd do well to land two of these, Kelly and Balic look unlikely but two of gaff, Kennedy or Rocky would help our cause in the middle for a fair few more years imo.

He's trying to let North down gently. It's the old "I'm not really interested in seeing anyone at the moment, but maybe in a few months give me a call and maybe we could go out?"

Wonder if Coniglio wouldn't mind a little pay rise and a change to play with his good mates in O'Meara & O'Rourke?
