B: Jeremy Laidler (Syd), Luke Delaney (StK), Heath Shaw (GWS)
HB: Elliott Yeo (WC), Josh Bruce (StK), Andrejs Everitt (Carl)
C: Nick Dal Santo (North), Dom Tyson (Melb), Bernie Vince (Melb)
HF: Paul Chapman (Esse), Lance Franklin (Syd), Dale Thomas (Carl)
F: Eddie Betts (Adel), James Podsiadly (Adel), Stewart Crameri (WB)
Foll: Shane Mumford (GWS), Jared Polec (Port), Anthony Miles (Rich)
Bench: Taylor Adams (Coll), Daniel Cross (Melb), Billy Longer (StK)
Sub: Matt White (Port)

Other: Luke McGuane (Bris), Trent West (Bris), Sam Docherty (Carl), Jesse White (Coll), Tony Armstrong (Coll), Patrick Karnezis (Coll), Kurt Aylett (Esse), Shaun Edwards (Esse), Colin Sylvia (Frem), Scott Gumbleton (Frem), Josh Hunt (GWS), Dylan Addison (GWS), Ben McEvoy (Haw), Viv Michie (Melb), Aidan Riley (Melb), Robin Nahas (North), Shaun Hampson (Rich), Matt Thomas (Rich), Shane Savage (StK), Tom Derickx (Syd), Xavier Ellis (WC), Sam Darley (WB)

The 44 players that I could find that switched clubs in the 2013 off-season in a best 22 and the rest. Second ruck was hardest to choose - West, White, McEvoy and Longer all bring somethin different. As was BP - Hunt v Laidler.

Does the fact Sydney lost quality players in Mumford and Everitt who have starred at other clubs in order to accommodate Franklin, lessen the value placed on Buddy's recruitment for the Swans ..

Ivan Maric and Richmond showed The Swans are definitely vulnerable in the ruck.

If any club had their two first-choice rucks unavailable they would be vulnerable. Don't think they wanted to risk Tippett either, so Naismith + some small was the choice.

In a final with no Pyke (and no Derickx), Tippett would be sacrificed I think.

Funnily enough, Nahas has been pretty good for us this year.
Underrated player in my opinion. He had a massive hot streak in 2013 I think it was. Racking up 25+ disposals and kicking a couple every week. Just needs to hold his feet and be more effective on both sides. Two simple problems in his game that could've been eliminated in an off season, but he appeared to be poorly developed at Richmond.

Elliot Yeo and Xavier Ellis have been surprisingly good recruits for us.

But across the league the best recruit has to be Franklin, followed by Betts, Tyson, Vince, Miles and Dal Santo.

Nahas in 2012 was good. 2013 was utterly dismal. Good value for a rookie pick though.

5. Franklin - Fantastic pick up for this year and one of the primary reasons that Sydney will be shooting for a flag this year. In terms of long term value however, yet to be seen, but if they win even one premiership with him playing, it'll be worth it.
4. Betts - Had a pretty amazing year and helped with the forward line issues Adelaide were having. Worth the price.
3. Polec - Wasn't a miracle maker, but was a fantastic investment and fit snugly into our starting 22. We didn't give up a huge amount for him (ie: a pick we winded up using on the exact same player). Great long term trade.
2. Vince - Dun dun duuun! He was pretty stagnant at Adelaide and hopefully helped even slightly with Melbourne's culture issues.
1. Mumford - GWS needed experienced players and got a pretty decent one here who had a pretty stellar year. Will aid GWS in helping them reach their peak at a faster rate.

Can't believe you have all those players and not Luke Delaney, seriously underrated. I can only think of 3 or 4 games where he was beaten.

 I wouldnt put him near the others sorry mate, my opinion only.

When he was beaten he was slaughtered too...I'd say hes a stop gap for you guys until you either land a big fish or some of your other young defenders come on.

5. Miles
4. Franklin
3. Tyson
2. Mumford
1. Vince

Miles has been nothing short of a sensation in terms of his immediate impact to Richmond's midfield. You could mount an argument that without him, they wouldn't be playing finals this year. He has been the recruit of the year for mine, as few would've anticipated his impact.

As good as Franklin has been, which is very good, he's the cream on an already pretty tasty cake.

Tyson and Vince finished 2 & 3 in the bluey last night. Cross was 5th. Three excellent recruits. Crossy would've been next in line with Betts not far behind.

Edit: can't leave out Mumford. Polec unlucky.

Not just an argument, fact too. Richmond's contested disposal and clearance stats since he's started playing are in the top four of the league. Without him, Richmond don't make finals.

It is a bit weird saying Buddy. He has been the second best player in the league now and has received the best deal anyone has received in a fair while. When you play the money/ length of contract VS output. I would say he is only currently as a barely passing level.

For me it is Anthony Miles. He looks to be a real steal.

Agree, Anthony Miles by a street. if you factor in what price we paid for him and the fact that since he is played he is in the top 5 for contested possessions in the competition, its a clear win. Also red dog gordon is a bit of a steal too.

Just thought you'd add a 'future' category so you could give a West Coast player a mention?
Because a soft mod deleted my post, I'll say it again... I wasn't the first one to do it.

I'm flattered you're trying to justify yourself to me, however, it is unnecessary. If you were so keen to talk about Eagles players, why didn't you just post on your board?
