Bigfooty Megathread: Who has been the best recruit of 2014?

I'm flattered you're trying to justify yourself to me, however, it is unnecessary. If you were so keen to talk about Eagles players, why didn't you just post on your board?
I'm not trying to justify myself to you, a mod deleted my post because of an insult, if you can call it that. Did you miss the four other players I listed? Should I go and post it on the Sydney, Port, Melbourne and Richmond boards instead? In fact, why don't we have a duplicate of this thread on each team board so this board can be for only opposition players. I'll let the mods know.

I think you need to walk this one off

5-Mumford(has led gws very well in the ruck)
4-Tyson(good pickup will only become better and better)
3-Dal Santo(st Kilda shouldn't have traded him)
2-Franklin(a Coleman medal nothing more needs to be said)
1-Eddie!!!(I'm probably being a little bias here but the guy kicked 51 goals as a small forward, led the league for goal assists, most tackles by a forward, second most clearances and contested possessions by a forward, kicked a strong goal of the year nomination and claimed his own pocket, not too mention he's getting paid less than half as much as buddy is)

Well done Swans on being able to identify Franklin and recruit him into the club.

Fantastic talent spotting.

Begs the question why don't all clubs recruit like the Swans
It really was great recruiting. Swans were the only club to realise the true worth of Franklin and the changes in the player market. They also worked out that in 6 or 7 years 1 million won't seem so much to pay for a player so it is less of a gamble than most people think. The real risk is a career-ending injury in the next year or two.

Swans have always been great at recruiting. I wish their drafting was as good as their recruiting.
