Not really, seems like a fair trade. There could have been other clubs behind the scenes making a last ditch bid for him, so maybe the 3rd rounder got it over the line. I'm happy to have nabbed him though, here is to hoping for a few solid years of footy from Richie.

Good trade by us. Two picks. Surely one of them will turn out better than Tambling.

It's tough to know when to use the comp pick though. On one hand if we wait a few years it will be a better pick but on the other hand we have a young team now and ideally we want an 18 year old now because that would fit better with our young core that we have now.

Think we did pretty well. Was expecting only the compo pick, the third rounder is a bonus. Expect it will be used to get Grigg. If so we get a comparable(?) fringe player who could be an in-and-under foil for Tuck and a high draft pick to boot. Nice work Tigers.

Bling will be much better than David Rodan and 24 months from now we will be laughed at by all and sundry for this trade ... however, he just wasn't going to get it together for us, so in reality we're better off than if we hadn't done the trade.

Tambling will thrive to have the Franklin pressure lifted from his shoulders, and will be much happier away from Melbourne. Some on here think it's weak if you're affected by a bit of abuse from your own supporters over the fence, but it continues when he's out for a quiet drink, filling up the car, buying his groceries, etc.

I think it's a fair trade.

Some people in here can't wait to see the back of Tambling. I think it's because they feel like he's done something wrong for them personally (ie getting bagged about the Franklin situation).

He's not a bad player and I think he'll be good for Adelaide. Will be used in that same sort of Peake roll for St.Kilda but Bling is a better player obviously. Good luck to him.
