AFL injury news: Seven facing tests

Updates leading into the elimination final.

UPDATES on 12 Blues ahead of this week's elimination final:-

Sam Docherty (knee)
- Available for selection this week

Charlie Curnow (ankle)
- Availability: test

Harry McKay (quad)
- Availability: test

Mitch McGovern (hamstring)
- Availability: test

Jack Martin (hamstring)
- Availability: test

Adam Cerra (hamstring)
- Availability: test

Zac Williams (hamstring)
- Availability: test

Tom De Koning (foot)
- Availability: test

Jordan Boyd (adductor)

• Completing his running program
• Availability: TBC

Sam Durdin (calf)
- Availability: 2-3 weeks

• Returned to full training

• Continues to be monitored and a further update will be provided as he progresses

He only played 1/3 of the first half and then was forced to stay on a bit longer in the 2nd half because we had one rotation. Was pulled late in the game (played 50% game time overall).

Should've just plonked him forward if that's the case instead of getting him to try and defend.

It was in the last four minutes of the game - took a mark and come down hobbling. Looked to the bench but obviously it was empty so he finished off the game

Geez, then why did he come down to get the ball on the wing, and then just stand there after giving it off, knowing he was the only tall forward we had? Check out his heat map.

Honestly the best game for it.

I think they’ll probably go safe and send Williams back there, but a part of me hopes we see Wilson.

We're making a minimum 1 debut, and that's if Fantasia passes his fitness test and Corey Durdin is good to go.

I'd like to see Lord and Wilson debut at least.

Didn't notice watching from home as the ball never went in our forward line. Last I saw of him he was on one leg in defence trying to entice the ball over the boundary.

Would absolutely love to see Binns, Lord and Wilson get a go. Lemmey has a shot since we have no tall forwards too.

I'm going McGovern, Kemp, Kennedy, Moir, Owies, Motlop and Elijah as the mainstays.

That’s the most probable outcome unfortunately knowing Vossys track record.

Can almost lock in Young, Durdin, Fantasia & Carroll I reckon.

Lord & Binns with one likely being the sub.

Here’s a prayer that Vossy just says **** it and risks it all.

One of the complaints about Teague was he didn't want to play the kids...

Let's hope Vossy learns from this. Lemmey should be given a go too...

I shudder to think he'll go with Pitto and Young as our key forward targets this week...

Yet, other teams are blooding first year players all the time. I need to look through to see where they were taken in the draft, and their weights etc. I'm not sure what we need to see from them, that other teams aren't waiting to see from their 18 year olds.

I agree, absolutely, but, we are at a point where I’m not sure it could get much worse, give the kid a go and tell him to play freely with no shackles and see where the wind takes him I say…
